Factual propaganda, yes. You ought to look up the league table of countries with the highest standards of living on the planet: the U.S. are quite far behind. For some, it's all subjective, however, and some people actually enjoy no healthcare and crappy infrastructures. Check out this link: it's very subjective. You might enjoy it :-) . http://www.internationalliving.com/Internal-Components/Further-Resources/qofl2009

I don't get the comparison between Olbermann and the mass of right-wing commentators anyway. For a start, he doesn't innundate television and radio studios with his interviews. He's not NEARLY as loud as the others. And at times, he actually makes sense.

Yep. No comparison.

Exactly.  Keith actually has facts on his side when he speaks. O'Smiley, Dimbaugh, and the like wouldn't know a fact if it hit them upside the ass.

Exactly?  Exactly?

I guess you didn't read either the short OP, or the article to which it links ...

If misunderstanding twitter is the biggest lie/misunderstanding Keith has ever told, I shall continue to watch him.

The reason I believe he has facts on his side?    Because I've read many books, and seen plenty of causes/consequences, that support his commentary.    As to whether he is an idiot as has been said, all I can say is, he speaks in intelligible English, unlike the former favored pres.    I know I would sue the pants off of someone if he wrote a book about me, with the title among the liars (and I could prove libel), or big fat idiots...   He also didn't drop out of school, unlike the boss, and thus far, no one has shown him to be a drugged out hypocrite.    It's kool to know we have people here who are sufficiently superior to call Olberman an idiot...   M

Olbermann usually supports his points with proof. He backs it up with video of O'Reilly, Hannity, Coulter and other right-wingnuts saying things that they deny, as well as statistics and quotes from public documents, etc. He invariably catches the cons, neocons, whee-o-cons and right-pandering shock jocks in their misrepresentations, illogical conclusions, and outright lies. They never seem to be able to prove otherwise, because they don't bother with using actual facts to back up their clams.

What happens to your stats if you take out all the illegal immigrants to the US?

Firm

The US figure decreases, because nobody does the low-paid jobs, so the companies employing those people don't get their work done, lose revenue, and end up laying off higher-paid people as well.

I see...so the litany of lies/hyperbole/vitriole on his show is negated enough for you by his books. OK, assuming youre on of the Fox News accusers, how many books have you read by conservative authors and how many lies have you found? And yes KO is an idiot. He doesn't have guests on his show that would have a chance to debate him and show what an empty head he is. Thats why he had to drop out of sports radio..no ratings, because when anyone would call in it was obvious he didnt know wtf he was talking about.

Who was the arsewipe from Fox? What an absolute wanker lol. Otherwise, Garofalo and Olbermann were right on the money. Thanks for confirming that 1. Fox sucks ass, and that 2. Obermann really ain't all that bad :-) .

Never said I was deep, but unlike you, and Fox, I'm not bitter. I rejoice in the discomfiture of these people. And yes, there is something wrong with these strange women who support a political agenda that goes against their interests (and those of other women). Stokholm syndrome, whilst a little extreme, is a good satirical way to describe their state of mind :-).

According to Nation Master
USA is at number 8 of recent new citizenships  (obviously not counting illegals in any country)
http://www.nationmaster.com/graph/imm_new_cit_percap-immigration-new-citizenships-per-capita
Now I realise this may just be another  libewal statistic site, (sigh) but refute away.
empty words and misplaced superiority are abounding here
Have you got anything to refute it ?
sorry for the temp hijack.... oh and Ive never watched Olbermann so I couldnt give a rats pattoooot

I actually hold some conservative views, but my holding them doesn't mean I will listen to commentators who make me feel a little non-consensually fingered up the a** every time I watch them.

I used to watch Oreilly, because I like men who honor their words, and stand for strong principles...   Than I learned he has no integrity, and is just a jerk who bullies/cuts off guests whith whom he disagrees, and throws tantrums to fool the uniformed, and gain ratings.

quote:

He doesn't have guests on his show that would have a chance to debate him and show what an empty head he is
If you're unimpressed by doctors, constitutional law professors, and other such Olberman interviewees, you clearly should be the ruler of the world...   And congratulations on that superior, or something, mind of yours.    As to whether he knows about football, does anyone here care?   As to vitriol, I can't believe you would still use that word after watching all the separatist, destructive to the nation bull your people were trying to sell to the country during the campaign.    I'm glad someone was on television calling bullshit every day, and backing it up with knowledge, experience, intellectuals, and yes books.

Aside from most of the time showing video clips to back up his assertions, I am also saying that many books on my shelf support Olberman's statements.   No doubt, sometimes he sounded harsh, but the country was taking an ugly turn, and someone needed to show reasoning and facts, especially during the campaign...
Some examples:
Plan of Attack, by Bob Woodward,
Against All Enemies, by Richard Clark,
House of Bush, House of Saud, by Craig Unger,
Seymor Hersh's words and writings,
Democracy Matters, by Cornel West,
Confessions of An Economic Hitman, by John Perkins,
Rush Limbaugh is just too gross for words, and that's just my opinion from listening to him...
Lies, and The Lying Liars Who Tell Them, by Al Franken,
Molly Ivins' Bushwhacked, and Bill of Wrongs,
Jews and Blacks, by Michael Lerner, and Cornel West, etc., etc...

I'm wasting my time I realize...   Because no one can fix what's amiss in folks who watch fox noise for any extended period of time, and don't realize a great many of the noisemakers are (close to, if not already) dangerously insane, not to mention inane.

I hope you were using fast reply to basically say you were in agreement with me.

It`s not the highest. But damm better than the 3rd world.

It`s relative.

That`s why so few Canucks are entering illegally.

One thing that differentiates KO from the rabble is he`s not constantly talking about and complimenting himself.

The way O`Reilly and Rush talk about themselves you`d think they were god`s gift to humanity.Indispensable to freedom and the American way(whatever that is..)defender of good against evil....sooo anoying..lol

What KO does and does so well is call them on their shit and with credibility.

This is why the guy has so many of the usual haters hate`n him. He`s successful.

Heard that OReilly just lost a major sponsor,United Parcel Post is pulling their adverts off his show cuz he when to far.Good for ratings maybe.Bad for sponsorships....ouch!......
