I actually hold some conservative views, but my holding them doesn't mean I will listen to commentators who make me feel a little non-consensually fingered up the a** every time I watch them. I used to watch Oreilly, because I like men who honor their words, and stand for strong principles... Than I learned he has no integrity, and is just a jerk who bullies/cuts off guests whith whom he disagrees, and throws tantrums to fool the uniformed, and gain ratings. quote:
He doesn't have guests on his show that would have a chance to debate him and show what an empty head he is If you're unimpressed by doctors, constitutional law professors, and other such Olberman interviewees, you clearly should be the ruler of the world... And congratulations on that superior, or something, mind of yours. As to whether he knows about football, does anyone here care? As to vitriol, I can't believe you would still use that word after watching all the separatist, destructive to the nation bull your people were trying to sell to the country during the campaign. I'm glad someone was on television calling bullshit every day, and backing it up with knowledge, experience, intellectuals, and yes books. Aside from most of the time showing video clips to back up his assertions, I am also saying that many books on my shelf support Olberman's statements. No doubt, sometimes he sounded harsh, but the country was taking an ugly turn, and someone needed to show reasoning and facts, especially during the campaign... Some examples: Plan of Attack, by Bob Woodward, Against All Enemies, by Richard Clark, House of Bush, House of Saud, by Craig Unger, Seymor Hersh's words and writings, Democracy Matters, by Cornel West, Confessions of An Economic Hitman, by John Perkins, Rush Limbaugh is just too gross for words, and that's just my opinion from listening to him... Lies, and The Lying Liars Who Tell Them, by Al Franken, Molly Ivins' Bushwhacked, and Bill of Wrongs, Jews and Blacks, by Michael Lerner, and Cornel West, etc., etc... I'm wasting my time I realize... Because no one can fix what's amiss in folks who watch fox noise for any extended period of time, and don't realize a great many of the noisemakers are (close to, if not already) dangerously insane, not to mention inane. quote:
hardbodysub Olbermann usually supports his points with proof. He backs it up with video of O'Reilly, Hannity, Coulter and other right-wingnuts saying things that they deny, as well as statistics and quotes from public documents, etc. He invariably catches the cons, neocons, whee-o-cons and right-pandering shock jocks in their misrepresentations, illogical conclusions, and outright lies. I hope you were using fast reply to basically say you were in agreement with me. quote:
kittinSol unlike you, and Fox, I'm not bitter. I rejoice in the discomfiture of these people. And yes, there is something wrong with these strange women who support a political agenda that goes against their interests (and those of other women). Stokholm syndrome, whilst a little extreme, is a good satirical way to describe their state of mind :-). Preach sistah! M
