And you think that is a hard thing to do?

Its impossible to do. When deployed the troops sole purpose is the mission. They cant be separated. (supporting has nothing to do with agreement).
Cruel I couldn't disagree more. One can support the young men and woman sent to do a mission without agreeing with the policies the mission is based on.

apparently you missed my parenthetical. You can support a mission without agreeing with the policies its based on, but once the sacrifice is being made, you cannot support those ordered to carry out the mission without supporting the mission itself because they are one and the same.

Cruel there is a good chance your opinion's are lent as little credence as you lend DomKen's....perhaps even less?

And that means exactly nothing to me. Im not here to convince anyone that my opinions are right or wrong..opinions are opinions. Mine just happen to be more well reasoned than most. [:D]

Parenthetical my ass...I'll go you one further...it is possible, nay it is incumbant for loyal citizens to both disagre and yes even protest when they beleive their Country is set upon the wrong path.....and they can and do all of this while still supporting the troops.
Support comes in many forms.....yours would seem to be of the blind variety....sheeple is a phrase I have seen bantered about on these pages....Your form of support would seem to be reserved for that particular breed.
"my country right or wrong"....is, and was a cop out for those neither smart enough brave enough or invested enough to call a spade a spade.

And your post is a prime example of why the US is well down the road of becoming a second rate country.
And I'll match my intelligence, bravery and investment in the US against anyone's.

Pray tell how is my post indicative of what ails this country....enlighten me please.
BTW I, as a proud American would never characterize my country as being "well down the road of being a second rate country"

to the first:  Youre failure to recognize what it is that made this country the power it became.
to the second: Then turn toward DC and open your eyes and watch as your being sold out for socialism.

Hey Cruel do me a favor...don't try and tell me what made this country great.I have no interest in a history lesson from someone who feels we are well on the road to being a second rate country.
BTW work ethic,an abundance of natural resources and oh yeah 2 great big oceans to seperate us from most of the worlds squables while we grew and prospered.....

then feel free to ignore me and not respond. If in 2 years you don't recognize "Change" for what it is and are still supporting Blowboy, Botoxi and dingy Harry (or whatever other cretins the Dems find to lead their party) I'll be very surprised.

" - well, okay, whatever"

It wasn`t just the (real) journalist bush was disrespecting and degrading.

It was the all of America he was disrespecting.

bush was punishing a tough questioner cuz he`s a pussy and coward .He was trying to send a message to the other (real) journalists not to ask tough questions.

Then of course there was the fake "journalist" planted by bush in the press-room to ask softball/leading questions crafted by bush,of bush.

Why is it that none of the conservatives explain this or square the Jeff Gannon/WH fraud?

lol It`s like the dead body in the corner that no one wants to talk about but keeps stinking.  lol

Is it that conservatives prefer to be mislead?

Or is this so embarrassing that no one wants to touch it?  ~stinkies~

Is there any more doubt that there is no practical change in the status quo with this administration?

Conversion to socialism, nationalization of industries, and 100% public union employment are the stated agenda; but no change in the propaganda machine.

No defense from anyone here - only confirmation that this is what EVERY administration has done. It's fortunate for this Administration's blind supporters to have that to point to, because without that comparison they'd have to see the emperor has no clothes. Just once it would be nice to see, instead of a Bush comparison, a response to how nothing has changed.

It won't happen, and I no longer will ask for it, because this Administration's advocates obviously have a deadly allergy to answering questions.

Another rant by someone that professes to be in the middle but is totally blinded by his far right idealogy

Love it!

and somehow he defeated the best the democrats could throw at him 2 times for the whitehouse. Defeated AL gore...even making him lose his own home state....ouch.  If gore just won his own home state he would have been president.

ever see the old episode of Gilligans Island with the Russians landing on it?  They believed Gilligan was the smartest of them all and that he was just playing dumb  ;)

This spring I watched dozens of hours' worth of old videos of John Kerry and George W. Bush in action. But it was the hour in which Bush faced Ann Richards that I had to watch several times. The Bush on this tape was almost unrecognizable—and not just because he looked different from the figure we are accustomed to in the White House. He was younger, thinner, with much darker hair and a more eager yet less swaggering carriage than he has now. But the real difference was the way he sounded. This Bush was eloquent. He spoke quickly and easily. He rattled off complicated sentences and brought them to the right grammatical conclusions. He mishandled a word or two ("million" when he clearly meant "billion"; "stole" when he meant "sold"), but fewer than most people would in an hour's debate. More striking, he did not pause before forcing out big words, as he so often does now, or invent mangled new ones. "To lay out my juvenile-justice plan in a minute and a half is a hard task, but I will try to do so," he said fluidly and with a smile midway through the debate, before beginning to list his principles. Richards's main line of attack—in fact, her only one—was that Bush had done so poorly in a series of businesses that he would be over his head as governor. Each time she tried this, Bush calmly said, "I think this is a diversion away from talking about the issues that face Texas"—which led him right back to the items on his stump speech ("I want to discuss welfare, education. I want to discuss the juvenile-justice system ...").

The HuffPo Gets to Question Obama — Making History By Belinda Luscombe Tuesday, Feb. 10, 2009
Change in Washington comes in increments, and a door was cracked open on Feb. 9 when, in the first official press conference of the Obama Administration, the President took a question from a reporter who writes only for a Web outlet. Admittedly, said outlet was the Huffington Post (or, as it is called for short, the HuffPo), so the reporter was unlikely to throw a curveball. Nevertheless, the President, and with him the whole White House media shop, has crossed a Rubicon of sorts, acknowledging the equivalent legitimacy of an unapologetically unobjective media outlet, which lives nowhere but the Internet and which didn't even exist four years ago.

Bush took real questions from real journalists, even those who were antagonistic towards him.

Bullshit. Bush didn't take a single question from the senior member of the White House press corp for 3 years and documents are available showing that it was a planned avoidance of her questions. And lets not forget the whole Gannon affair.

Presidential press conferences, in many ways, are like fashion shows. They proceed in a predictable and highly orchestrated fashion. Invitees are there to observe but also to strut their stuff. Attendance is limited to insiders. And the seating is telling, reflecting an ingrained pecking order. In the White House, the two wire outlets, Reuters and AP, are always given front-row seats and invited to ask the first questions of the President. But also sitting in the front row at Obama's press conference were Sam Stein, a 26-year-old class of '07 graduate of Columbia Journalism School who works for the Huffington Post, and Ed Schultz, a former sportscaster turned liberal talk-show host.

when the other side is over confident they will loose ;)

ever wonder how Bush was able to get so much of what he wanted done even with a democrat controlled congress ;)

Bush's last major defeat actually occurred due to republicans....immigration reform.
