And wHat will HRH think, do you imagine?

I would imagine she is thinking " oh dear another hand to shake"

One of the things that has caused quite a lot of amusement here is the size of Obama's entourage. 500 people travelling with him. Is that really necessary. I am sure HRH is laughing over that one.

I hope there isn't any major problem there.   From the Morning Joe live pics, looks alike a lot of protesters out on the street.

On the more shallow side though, I really meant that I wanted to "hear" you Brits speak, because I loooove to listen to you speak (the non accent/accent).     M

In this context, he is, since he is your, dare I say.......leader [8D]

Just as much as Gordon Brown is, dare I say it... OUR leader [8D] .

It's delightful to not worry like I did with Bush that he would actually open his mouth and say something.

Why, is he bringing his teleprompter with him? [sm=oops.gif]

I think it is a test for Europe not Obama. The test...are European countries willing to work with the US or will they be petty and posture for power.

Butch

Forgive me for going off topic Butch, but this assumes America knows the best way out of the mess. France and germany both blame the UK and America for not having enough of a regulated finance system. Add to that its a meeting of world leader and not just America and Europe.

I'm not assuming America knows the way Politesub... what I am saying is Europe has for the last 8 years been complaining about the policies of Bush, rightly in my opinion.

Obama however is the type of person whose policies and actions say we not I. He is what Europe wanted in an American president.

So now it is up to them whether to work together or as in the past posture over prestige and power.

....er.......so, on the one hand Europe, in your opinion rightly criticised Bush's policies.......and on the other hand they were posturing over power and prestige.

Honestly.......[8|]

lol... there is a long history before Bush.. and hey again it is human nature to be that way... you are...and so I'm I.

things changed with US- Europe relations the past 2 years.  Bush, Germany and France started getting along.

Before I did not blame them...Bush was a world disaster but Obama has, from the beginning, been open and upfront in his policies both world and economic. In the past other new US presidents have faced the European snobbishness.

Obama I believe is more than willing to work with Europe as an equal partner…that is a change from the Bush era… I hope they understand this is no time to see whose dick is longer.

It's so stupid to talk about countries as if they had minds of their own... So limited and meaningless. You have had a French president who was ready to let Uncle Sam fuck him up the arse with no lube, so of course, now, you think France gets on with America [sm=highfive.gif].

What do we think of Obamar coming to the Isles?

Not impressed.........we asked for Barry Manilow and he turns up ranting about change.....we'd have been happy with the same, old Barry......

Anyway, this ain't Germany.....

Why not eh? If some continent is roaming around with over-sized genatalia, then let's at least open our minds to the possibilities.....

subtee -> RE: And Now for Something Completely Differnet... (4/1/2009 12:03:05 PM)

I'm open...

FullfigRIMAAM1 -> RE: And Now for Something Completely Differnet... (4/1/2009 12:09:14 PM)

Me too!   [8D] Especially if there are pictures to be attributed to the head of state, and his attitudes in ruling his country, as well as the rest of the world.  [:D]   M

Butch....I'll let you in on something here.....

I'd estimate that....

a) 61.7% of people here have no idea who he is....

b) 83.2% of the population do not realise he's here.....

c) 99.93% of the population do not care whether or not he's here.....

It really isn't a test for England.
