MistressSassy66 -> RE: Low Income Dominants. (6/23/2006 10:17:19 AM)

I dont see a problem...but thats because I'm a low income Domme...whatever.
W/we dont struggle from day to day,but some days are harder than others but hey thats Life,The secret is to Overcome and Adapt.

I have an awesome dungeon I worked hard to get everything I have.If anything I appreciate what I have more than if I could just go buy whatever when I wanted.

HisTicia -> RE: Low Income Dominants. (6/23/2006 10:35:19 AM)

fast reply:

I don't see what difference it makes.  I mean..at one time.. I made pretty ok money..but couldn't handle it worth crap..so I was always broke.  When I started back to college..and had to live from student loans..big shock to my system.  I did learn though..that it can be done..and really.. there are a lot of things in life that I want.. I have expensive taste..yet..there are very few things that I need.

My taste has not changed..and I love to look..but I am sorry..no matter the name on the purse.. I am not paying hundreds of dollars for it..nor three or four on a dress.

I don't require that any Dom I talk to have lots of money.  The one requirment I do have about any of the financial part is.. they don't live in mommy and daddy's basement..and I have talked to many of them.   I don't mind working at all.. and helping to support US...but I will not be the only one lending a hand in that area.

I have met the ones that had a ton of money..and those that haven't.. good ppl on both ends..and very bad ones.

Things happen..plants close.. sickness...and things that I probably haven't even thought of..but they can't be helped.  I think I would prefer being with someone that is a good person.. works hard..takes care of me (emotionally) than someone who is an ass with all the money in the world.
                                                      IMHO, Ticia

This post is real.  Most all babyboomers is going to be reading AARP mags.  I't's a wakeup call to retirement and if you did not save well...........Even so,  you will be low income after no matter what you have now. At  least the ones like me that did not strike it rich.  Damn that felt good to admit it.[;)]

Tamerofwild1s -> RE: Low Income Dominants. (6/23/2006 10:55:54 AM)

OK .. I am going to take one last stab at this thread ... it would seem that the OP that Iron Bear was asking was why as a society <and this maybe the "lifestyle" as well> we tend to osteracize adn shun those that don't have or have less then we do .. everyone has said things can be tough . everyone agrees that it should be someones knowledge looked at . a few mentioned they want someone who is finacially suitable to take care of them ..... BUT

Here is the kicker . as a society in America we have become so "needy" <for lack of bigger words LMAO> on social status quo .... it's become all about the status .. we have forgotten the smaller things in life ... and we look down from time to time on those who don't have as being less then what they actually are.

NOW this is just my opinion and I hope I don't get attacked for it

Lordandmaster -> RE: Low Income Dominants. (6/23/2006 3:16:00 PM)

Donald Trump has lost more money than just about anyone in the world.  And he's still rich.  Why?  He was born even richer than he is now.

Surely if someone is rich, it's because they can handle money, even if they have earned it or not, if they couldn't handle money they wouldn't be rich, at least not for long.

Same here Sassy66 .. I enjoy sitting out on the front porch having a cup of coffee and chatting . I like renting a funny DVD and watching with some extra butter popcorn . I think those times are more precious to me then any expensive gift or fancy car . or huge house ... nothing beats the small things in life that bring a smile

It's not a matter of "maintaining the status quo" or some sort of social status that makes me look at finances.... and more importantly, financial stability and willingness to get out and DO something.  It comes down to both practicality, and having learned some rather harsh lessons in my past.  I've dated guys... both dom and vanilla... who ran the gamut from insanely poor to insanely rich.  The ones that I am still on good terms with - both rich and poor - are the ones who actually gave a flyin flip one way or the other about whether they were maintaining themselves.  The ones that I detest, despise, loath, and consider less than human (as well as considering them significantly less than me, and a lot less than a man) are the ones who didn't even Try - they expected me to support them, so they could sit around and issue orders.  They wanted me to work, hand them what money I made, then to play on that money rather than paying the bills - all while they didn't work, inside OR outside the house.  While it may come across as judgemental, intolerant, or snobbish, I will ALWAYS consider people like that to be "less" than the rest of humanity, whether they're involved in BDSM or not.

Not necessarily.  Those who are rich enough, yet complete idiots in  managing their own money, can always hire someone who IS good at it to do it For them.  They remain rich, they continue to play the way they want, they have someone else do the "worrying" portion for them.

meatcleaver -> RE: Low Income Dominants. (6/23/2006 5:12:13 PM)

Ok The rich can be bad with money but getting back on topic they have less problems getting young beautiful women because many young women are attracted by wealth. You just have to look in any major city and its there before your eyes. If you have money you attract women.

OnyxGoddess -> RE: Low Income Dominants. (6/23/2006 7:48:40 PM)

well...let's take the whole of society out of the picture and start with the collarme community...why does someone's income matter if they love you and care for you and provide for your basic needs?  they say change starts with one person so whose views have been changed or challenged at least by the information in this thread?

mnottertail -> RE: Low Income Dominants. (6/23/2006 8:07:59 PM)

Hey, Onyx........

Are you you or are you that girls picture?  Did you get that little dust-up handled, M'Lady?

Curiously,
Ron

OnyxGoddess -> RE: Low Income Dominants. (6/23/2006 8:19:00 PM)

mnottertail -> RE: Low Income Dominants. (6/23/2006 8:25:27 PM)

Well Misstress, You know I am all about Lovin 'on you.....I am glad you ran the little shit weasel off,  but you all can use your own bra, you ain't gotta hide it in no drawer.......that ain't why I like you.

LOLOL,

OnyxGoddess -> RE: Low Income Dominants. (6/23/2006 8:35:45 PM)

LOL. I know i know...it's cuz of my "charming and sweet" personality (bats eyelashes innocently)

HA!  im sweet alright....like bitter lemons. LOL.[:D]

merrymischief2 -> RE: Low Income Dominants. (7/20/2006 7:07:57 PM)

This is my first post to the collarme forums. Be gentle!

I'm not sure why anyones income (or lack therof) would play a part in making them more or less desirable. Its all about the character of a person.

merry

MiladyLily -> RE: Low Income Dominants. (7/21/2006 9:06:41 AM)

I love it when guys tell me they have a fantasy about a rich Domme.  Usually it goes something like this - rich, elegant woman in big black limousine pulls up alongside them while they're on the street, someone jumps out, grabs them, cuffs them, and throws them in the car.  They are then whisked away to a remote cabin in the woods to be tied up, tortured and used for days.  To this I say:  Cool fantasy.  I'd love to play.   Go pay the rental on the limousine and the cabin...then we'll talk.  Somehow that always seems to deflate their little balloons.  So often I hear subs complaining about 'Money Dommes'.  But they don't think anything of expecting a Domme to invest in outrageously expensive equipment to make their little fantasies come true.  Get real.  [;)]
