xxblushesxx -> RE: AHHHHH! The Frenzy (4/6/2009 5:40:15 PM)

I compare it to what it's like to be a teenager.
You're kind of crazy, but you don't realize it, and nothing anyone says will make it better until you realize it's just a phase.
I went through the same kind of crap when I was pregnant.
But honestly, reading about it, and knowing what it was did help me to avoid mistakes I might otherwise have made.
I'm expecting the same shite when I go through the change...hopefully my brain will be stronger than my emotions, but looking back on my teen years, I can't guarantee it.

sblady -> RE: AHHHHH! The Frenzy (4/6/2009 6:05:14 PM)

I went to bed thinking about this thread and had a good laugh reminiscing.  There were so many things I'd experienced and had forgotten, such as:

The "doms" who went poof or totally flipped the script. The e-mails I received from their wives or significant others (when they'd sworn up and down that they weren't involved with anyone).   The people I rushed to meet in real life and how crushed I was if feelings weren't reciprocal (theirs/mine/both).   The lengths I thought I'd go through to prove that I could become what they wanted and risk losing myself in the process.  The ones who wanted to totally break me down or desensitize me to do things I felt/feel are repulsive, dangerous and sometimes just plain yucky!!

Not to mention how I read everything I could put my hands on and tried to patten myself and my relationship after a book.

It was crazy, I tell ya!!  I wanted to experience everything NOW!!!   I think I was attempting to make up for "skipping" puberty and felt like a hyper kid with unlimited funds in a toy store. [sm=insane.gif]

I'm so very thankful for my experiences as it made me much stronger and I can smell or spot BS PDQ these days!!

DavanKael -> RE: AHHHHH! The Frenzy (4/6/2009 8:10:25 PM)

Can't say I have any frenzied moments (Unless one counts being in the moment...but, that's not what I think you're looking for) of that sort but I suppose the biggest red flag for me is ignoring my instincts.

Lally, if you cannot hold a valid discussion without assuming it is all about 'you', that 'you' have the ability 'piss in anyones cornflakes', or that someone is on 'your' back, then there is no reason for me to even try to have a decent discussion with you.  I enjoy debates, not discussions where it all revolves around 'someone'.  I'm done.

I think my first and biggest screw up was accepting a collar from a Master and self deluding myself into believing I'd live happily ever after. That only last 2 months before I finally wised up, removed the collar and left!

i went through this exact same thing! God, it was awful.

fair comment - i spose i did take youre stance as aggressive rather than discussive.  my bad and i apologise.

the thing is i dont think people here are heralding 'sub frenzy' as an excuse.  they are simply recognising the term because its symptoms correlate with their experience.  intelligent, coherant folk, one or two of which i communicate with on the other side and know to be people of good judgement and character.

we could call it bad judement call or bjd.  what difference does it make what people call it.  the fact remains that it is an experience some people have gone through that is pertinant to this lifestyle and is held up by this thread - and on other bdsm sites.

people i might add who on the whole are old enough to know better and almost certainly wouldnt be that stupid anywhere else with anything else, but for some reason lose the ability to be sensible when first exploring their submissive natures. (not all but some)

i personally think its also tied up with the other phenomena that happens where people seem to not realise that the same rules of engagement apply here as anywhere else.  whats that about? - mature adults start acting like teenagers again.

there is, i think something more to this than just losing the plot.

i think the point of this thread was really just to have a giggle at ourselves and fellow idiots on this one and to point out that there is a reaction that can sometimes follow where people, mature, grown up people suddenly do idiotic things.  often out of character.

theres nothing wrong in giving something a name when the symptoms and signs are the same with each and every person who does it.  it helps to identify the disease.

if doctors went around saying, you have a persistant cough, runny nose and sore throat syndrome, instead of just being able to say you have a cold, they'd run even later than they already do!

RCdc -> RE: AHHHHH! The Frenzy (4/7/2009 5:08:30 AM)

Its all cool lally.  I just don't do it being about an individual and take a wider view, like on the other thread, that's not just about 'you' as misst interpreted it's about the wider view.  You just happened to start the thread.

I don't happen to believe that people are using the phrase 'sub frenzy' as an excuse.  But I do find it lazy and I find it confusing for new people.  Buzz words work when used  by people who have been around the block do work.  But end of the day, it's no harder to say, 'so you fucked up', than 'so you have sub frenzy'.  In fact it's less words!  In the end, you(generic) still have to explain what it is to a new person whom this exact thread and buzz word is supposed to be making it easier for.  It doesn't, it makes things more confusing and makes people feel like they know so little.  So many acronyms just end up with people going 'huh?' and then you end up with threads like "subslave difference" - "what is 'frenzy' " - just because BDSM peeps make things so fucking complicated.

I said on another thread and I will say it again.  I just don't get why people(general bdsm types) insist on coining new terms and buzz words which end up making things far more complicated when they(general) are the first to harp on about how important clear communication is in a BDSM/Ds/SM/Ms relationship![8|]

Problem is, most people don't bloody talk because it's too fucking complicated in the end.

Thing is - when a doctor is diagnosing an ailment, they are working with recognised text and studies.  I just don't believe that you can compare a recognised disease with a made up buzz word that does not have a set definition for everyone.  That's apple and oranges.

Remember The Frenzy?

my worst frenzied moment was being almost fisted in the parking lot of Starbucks with slut written on my chest. it was not a shining moment, as i looked up at the cop who was telling me to get out of the car. sitting on the curb next to the dude while the cops searched my car was one of the most humilating times of my life.
frenzied...yep.

hmm, [:)], well.  i spose one of us had to capitulate and im much better at it than you [:D] - youre being very crabby by the way.

So many acronyms just end up with people going 'huh?' and then you end up with threads like "subslave difference" - "what is 'frenzy' " - just because BDSM peeps make things so fucking complicated.

ok, so i get youre point - yes, i recall a time when i was confused, but not by the acronyms particularly, they helped.  i remember being sent off to castle realm i think (i hear a generic groan) to read up about sub frenzy - in the same way that i went off and read up about submissives not being weak doormats and i remember you saying once that not all sadists are dominant - eureka moments, clarifications, the light goes on and you learn.

so, now amongst the tenuous, confusing byways and highways of bdsmshire we must change 'sub frenzy' to 'you fucked up' - ok.  i still dont see the difference.  noone is saying here that they didnt fuck up and actually the only time this thread got convoluted and confusing is when it got somewhat hijacked by people refusing to accept the acronym as a standard term for fucking up.

I said on another thread and I will say it again.  I just don't get why people(general bdsm types) insist on coining new terms and buzz words which end up making things far more complicated when they(general) are the first to harp on about how important clear communication is in a BDSM/Ds/SM/Ms relationship![8|]

every language under the sun started with grunts and ended up with a florid and ever expanding vocabulary - as the internet allows more and more people of different needs and requirements to embrace the world of kink you will inevitably bump into more and more different ways to describe something.

its only confusing to those who are starting out, but then french confused the hell out of me until i went and lived there for a bit.

Problem is, most people don't bloody talk because it's too fucking complicated in the end.

the macrocsm yes, the microcosm no.  my microcosm isnt confusing atall - just a bit steep at times [:)]

lally, this isn't about me and it's not about you.  I really thought we had got of the 'its all about you' vibe.  My bad and mistake and honestly, if you can't disassociate yourself from a comment and have to resort to personal attacks for one upmanship, it's just a pity.

It's not about being crabby, it's about not making ourselves the centre but discussing something instead, which is just getting lost with your retorts.  I know I cannot hold reasonable debate with you right now, in the future it might change.  It's all good, just chill and try to not get personal.

im seriously at a loss to know where you got that i was being personal or that its all about me vibe.

the crabby comment was me trying to loosen the mood and have a playful dig.

you need to chill too - and again i wasnt being personal and i wasnt taking it personally.  i was simply writing from my perspective.

anyhoo, on to other things.
