ORIGINAL: Darcyandthedark Its all cool lally. I just don't do it being about an individual and take a wider view, like on the other thread, that's not just about 'you' as misst interpreted it's about the wider view. You just happened to start the thread. hmm, , well. i spose one of us had to capitulate and im much better at it than you - youre being very crabby by the way. I don't happen to believe that people are using the phrase 'sub frenzy' as an excuse. But I do find it lazy and I find it confusing for new people. Buzz words work when used by people who have been around the block do work. But end of the day, it's no harder to say, 'so you fucked up', than 'so you have sub frenzy'. In fact it's less words! In the end, you(generic) still have to explain what it is to a new person whom this exact thread and buzz word is supposed to be making it easier for. It doesn't, it makes things more confusing and makes people feel like they know so little. So many acronyms just end up with people going 'huh?' and then you end up with threads like "subslave difference" - "what is 'frenzy' " - just because BDSM peeps make things so fucking complicated. ok, so i get youre point - yes, i recall a time when i was confused, but not by the acronyms particularly, they helped. i remember being sent off to castle realm i think (i hear a generic groan) to read up about sub frenzy - in the same way that i went off and read up about submissives not being weak doormats and i remember you saying once that not all sadists are dominant - eureka moments, clarifications, the light goes on and you learn. so, now amongst the tenuous, confusing byways and highways of bdsmshire we must change 'sub frenzy' to 'you fucked up' - ok. i still dont see the difference. noone is saying here that they didnt fuck up and actually the only time this thread got convoluted and confusing is when it got somewhat hijacked by people refusing to accept the acronym as a standard term for fucking up. I said on another thread and I will say it again. I just don't get why people(general bdsm types) insist on coining new terms and buzz words which end up making things far more complicated when they(general) are the first to harp on about how important clear communication is in a BDSM/Ds/SM/Ms relationship! every language under the sun started with grunts and ended up with a florid and ever expanding vocabulary - as the internet allows more and more people of different needs and requirements to embrace the world of kink you will inevitably bump into more and more different ways to describe something. its only confusing to those who are starting out, but then french confused the hell out of me until i went and lived there for a bit. Problem is, most people don't bloody talk because it's too fucking complicated in the end. the macrocsm yes, the microcosm no. my microcosm isnt confusing atall - just a bit steep at times the.dark.
