My nick is from a song.

Little Wonder by David Bowie.

I'm a Bowie fan. I like the song. Was listening to it and thought it sounded kewl for a nick.

sure it is, it just takes a little cypering lol.

Shakira under neath your clothing, The song, The phrase out of the song I'd choose if I was religious* and I'm not* Was song from god.

And then,  Cracks in the crystal ball, the song, have a compass need a willing accomplis, is the phrase that would inspire my choice of nick name.

And this explanation right here has made me do nothing more than scratch my head and wonder what the fuck you are talking about.

/sigh

Perhaps I should spell it out.

Nicknames. Are you referring to online nicknames? Or to real life nicknames?

Both your OP and secondary explanation were sorely lacking in pointing this out.

YourhandMyAss -> RE: you ever chose your nick name because inspiration from a song or tv or a book? (4/16/2009 11:11:26 PM)

irish, any nick name online real life what ever, nick names are nick names , all though mostly online cause it'd look really silly to go around in real life and say hi my friends call me compass needs acomplis lol

GreedyTop -> RE: you ever chose your nick name because inspiration from a song or tv or a book? (4/16/2009 11:38:24 PM)

I use (as a nilla nick online) a song from one of my favorite bands, Savatage.  I had to alter the spelling a bit though.

LadyTeazer -> RE: you ever chose your nick name because inspiration from a song or tv or a book? (4/17/2009 12:22:06 AM)

*perks up*

Savatage??

The "roots" of that totally awesome, kick-ass, hard rockin', classical music inspired band known as TSO?  ("Trans-Siberian Orchestra"  to those of you who sadly do not know who they are)

It is not a nickname (I've never had one), but in a few places, I go by a screen name that is a tribute to My favorite band of all time -- The Moody Blues.  I am a gemini, and one of their songs is titled "Gemini Dream".

And I am still scratching My head, and trying to wrap My brain around why and how a "compass needs an accomplice".   What da heck???  An accomplice for what purpose?  I just don't get it....

Oh.  My 'tagline' is a line from a song.  Anybody out there know which one it is?  (Hint:  it is not a Moodies song, nor a TSO one)

GreedyTop -> RE: you ever chose your nick name because inspiration from a song or tv or a book? (4/17/2009 12:26:35 AM)

Yep.. Savatage :)  I cant count how many times I've seen them.....

LadyTeazer -> RE: you ever chose your nick name because inspiration from a song or tv or a book? (4/17/2009 12:38:12 AM)

TSO has been coming to Cleveland for the past 11 years now, doing their "Christmas" tour.  They sell out every show.  And rock the house!  Because Cleveland  "launched" TSO, Paul O'Neill promised that every time they come to town, we will always get the "A" group performing.  Paul, Bob Kinkel, Chris Cafferty, Alex Skolnick, and I forget the drummer's name.  Sorry!

But what else would you expect from Cleveland?  This town has not only launched many major acts, but many are from this area as well.

  *~*~*  CLEVELAND  ROCKS!!!  *~*~*

It's more than just a saying....

GreedyTop -> RE: you ever chose your nick name because inspiration from a song or tv or a book? (4/17/2009 12:42:22 AM)

I hate that I keep missing TSO... I'm always either working or broke......

sirsholly -> RE: you ever chose your nick name because inspiration from a song or tv or a book? (4/17/2009 3:47:43 AM)

TSO rocks!

thats what you think. The sad fact is they have been trying to get out of Cleveland for the past 11 years. They just throw a concert every so often for practice. [8|]

Seems all the Cleveland roads are blocked by Pgh Steeler fans, celebrating their most recent (and highly predictable) victory over the Browns.

Well then, in that case [8D]

Irishmist was chosen because well, I am Irish [8D] and mist because it's a shortened version of my real name Misotara. I have been called Mist since I was in grade school.

sambamanslilgirl -> RE: you ever chose your nick name because inspiration from a song or tv or a book? (4/17/2009 5:19:08 AM)

however here, my nickname is from Daddy's love of Brazillian music.

Christinestill -> RE: you ever chose your nick name because inspiration from a song or tv or a book? (4/17/2009 5:50:26 AM)

mine was chosen because it's my name and well, it's still my name. (still tired i guess.)

AngelGeena -> RE: you ever chose your nick name because inspiration from a song or tv or a book? (4/17/2009 5:56:51 AM)

Geena is a take on my middle name, Jean.  Its the name I used when I didn't want people to know my real name.  Spelled after Geena Davis.

The Angel part, well, because of my angelic nature and ways. *snorts*
