If I'm remembering correctly, DC once created a post about this very thing. It was more to the tune of how we (the forum regulars at that time) were more willing to overlook the poor spelling of regular posters than we were for someone we weren't familiar with. Anyway, clip's spelling on these boards is atrocious. The boy is quite smart, I assure you. However, for some reason, he can't get a spell check program to run on his laptop. It used to bug Me, but since he can't do anything about it, I had to shrug it off. As long as this doesn't turn into the capitalization debate again, I'm good with it.[:)]

You will have a short cmail in the next couple of minutes, LP. A little matter which has just come to mind.

and all is NOT always as it appears...I have a Masters Degree in ENG and can appear to be a terrible speller..why>? I am losing sight in the left eye and if do not use a spell check.. come off as a dunce cap candidate!

I do know people with PhDs who are terrible spellers, GQ. Most particularly in the science subjects. My own brother is an example. I taught a brigadier in the army once who'd taken an eye injury in Afghanistan - his spelling was bad, too. Brain like a laser, though. It'd be a stuffed up idiot who judged someone's brainpower just by his/her spelling.
