Wow, I always thought you were literate but just a radical man-hating feminist. Now I see you're not particularly literate either. Please inform us which other authors Shakespeare "cribbed" from. My database isn't finding any other hits for "Alas, poor Yorick." And if you've actually read Holinshed, you'd know that Shakespeare didn't take anything "straight" from him. Here, there are actually a few sites online that reproduce Holinshed's version of the Leir story. If you think King Lear was taken "straight" from that, you're not a reader. quote:
