The song is from 1999. Absolutely incredible recording.. I was just flabbergasted when i heard it.

Point taken, Arpig, but her voice is only part of what moves people, I think. It was the whole scene: ordinary, dumpy woman musters her courage to perform, is greeted with (literally) eye-rolling skepticism, then blows the judges away. I, at least, felt like she triumphed on behalf of all of us downtrodden folks who yearn for a moment of glory.

Good voice but musically suited to the WW2 era, either that or the theme tune to ‘James Bond 18: Tomorrow is yesterday but only today.’

Isn't it just as bad to put someone on a pedestal because they aren’t physically attractive as it is to put one on a pedestal because they are?
