I generally either ask the Boyfriend to his face directly or through texting (when I'm at work and start day dreaming about what *could* happen when I get out) and it's his decision whether or not he follows through with that.  Asking is fine- but you might not always get what you're asking for.

Oh yes, i would sometimes ask/beg for a spanking.  The word "spanking" means a spanking, the words "beating" or "flogging" mean a beating or a flogging.  They do have different meanings for me...they mean what they say and say what they mean, in my mind anyway.

I should add that I view it the same way I view regular sex in our relationship.  We live together and sometimes you're in the mood for something your partner is not- it happens.  You can ask or initiate things in your own way, but it doesn't guarantee you'll get your way.  I still believe that honestly expressing your wants, desires, fantasies and needs are integral in ALL relationships regardless of ANY BDSM components.

Also wanted to add the way the character asks in Secretary.  If you haven't seen the movie, she would purposely make typing errors.  It was her way of asking for a spanking and I found it rather cute.
