Or not even new enough to be new, how does one go about finding mistress and getting to the point of discovering to just what tune of kink it is you dance?

How do you find your local hangouts or places where your most likely to cross pathes with the possibly like minded. The most social things I seem do are volunteering and that obviously won't get me very far.

You're about an hour from Tampa and you're asking us to point you in the right direction? I suggest doing a search for BDSM munch groups in your area, but that might be a bit too easy.

Been there to help a model friend of mine clothes/makeup ... and make sure she wasn't bothered, big city, terrible traffic, great spaghetti but is it popular for BDSM?

I am with Lady Hibuscus. Munches and PEP (with all of it's subsequent incarnations) meetings were great. However, the internet has been my best tool.

There are a TON of links to FREE sites to connect with good people who hang out as kinksters and do all kinds of fun things together.

My local group has been a life-saver and I plan one play party a week. This is free and subs and Dommes get to experience, practice and do vanilla things together.

OP: look around, find a local group, ask them if they are a good group for beginners.

It was the Internet that proved to me i wasn't "sick" like society said. i remember a few years back when i first did research in the early Internet days, i was shocked to find how many people there were out there who felt JUST LIKE ME! It was a freaking release i'll never forget!
