In amongst your post, you certainly do have some valid points. But, you know, porn isn't made to reflect 'real' life. If someone pays too much attention to porn, then all I can say is that is one pitiful education on women. Porn is predominantly made by men, for men. All porn, including fetish and BDSM porn is made with commercialism in mind. It is also often made by people who have very little knowledge in the niche they are making, and thus their product reaks of those stereotypes and clichés. Most producers of porn have a phallocentric view of sexuality because that is the industry and environment they are in; they don't 'get it'. They are probably not even aware that there are women out there who are dominant, like kink and BDSM, and that their dominance extends to sex as well. They often don't realise that some dominant women do not feel the only intercourse position she can remain dominant in is woman-on-top position. There are even fewer who realise that some femdoms are secure in their dominance and do not fall into the 'dominance-is-defined-by-the-act' trap. There are hardly any porn producers that are aware that a lot of women don't view the penis as dominant, or even define dominance by genitals. In hetero porn, the lust and sexual focus will always be on the woman and what she can do for the penis; it's all at the whim of male desire and pleasure only. Regardless of the genre of porn, her orgasm, 'real' response, what she thinks, or feels (other than her focus on him), is of no concern. It is unlikely to change whilst the market is male dominated. There are a few producers of female focused porn out there, but I personally find it all very 'soapy' and vanilla, and not to my taste. There is often the notion that for porn to appeal to a female market, it has to be about soft focus, touchy, fluffy, romantic type stuff. Sure, that's often true. But producers don't seem to realise that actually, what most women want to see in their erotic visuals is expression of real (or plausible) passion/lust as well as genuine female focus (regardless of a femdom genre) in porn. I digress somewhat, but none of this will change unless women start becoming part of the market, and demanding a product to their taste. When someone finally makes female focused porn, that genuinely focuses on women, displays real passion/chemistry, with a focus on BDSM as well as penetrative sex for HER pleasure (in all positions); and also shows a non pantomime kind of female dominance... you can be darned sure I'll be signing up, and spending some hard earned cash.
