ElectraGlide -> Dec. 21st 2012, Planet X is coming, fact or fiction... (4/20/2009 9:56:35 PM)

The world is suppose to end on Dec. 21st 2012 according to a few stooges i work with. This planet Niburi or Nubiri or 2 other names that come up in google searches is suppose to slam us. I am not worried, I think its a joke hoax, by the way they have books and DVD's available on the one Youtube video. A few other people at work think it will happen also, they heard us debating about it in the lunchroom, and gave us their knowledge on the subject. When they said Planet X has ten foot aliens on it, I had to surrender and ask to stop talking about it, so it does not create major tension among us.

quote:

But returning to the history of Nibiru andiamat, our planet had a much colder environment than today. The humanoid population, which our paleontologists and the like call "Neanderthals", were hardier and hairier than we are. They lived in caves to take advantage of the natural internal warmth of Tiamat. These early Tiamatians were directly descended from ancestors in the Pleiades, a fact that can be amply verified by the history and mythology of the Mayas and the Polynesians, to name a couple. However, the Pleiadian origins of Tiamat in the first place will not be discussed in this brief history. That is for another time and space.

This solar system was internally stable 500,000 years ago. But an unanticipated, strange event occurred. One of the larger planets from the Sirian System had strayed off course eons before and had drifted our way. This planet had been unwittingly captured by our Sun and thrown into an extremely elongated comet-like orbit, lasting 3,600 of our current years, with its aphelion at the Oort Cloud, the very boundary of the Sun's gravitational field. It is approximately the size of our Planet Neptune. It is populated with a reptilian super-race governed by an elite aristocracy known as "the Nefilim". The general population is known as "Anunnaki" (Sumerian) or "Anakim" (Old Testament). At the time of this event, the Planet Nibiru was being ruled by Emperor Alalu and Empress Lilitu.

After its capture by our Sun, the Planet Nibiru slowly began to suffer atmospheric deterioration. The governing "Council of Twelve" headed by Emperor Alalu met in emergency session and concluded that in order for their planet to survive, a heat-shield of gold dust would have to be constructed to protect their atmosphere and prevent a cooling off of the planet, which would have been disastrous for a reptilian-based existence constantly dependent upon external heat sources for bodily warmth. They began an immediate exploration of their new solar system. A fleet of spacecraft was dispatched to Tiamat and other planets in an attempt to search for gold.

These people are clearly insane.

Bits of South East London already look like that... and that's before any sort of collision.

Maybe that's why they're upgrading all those London Underground lines..

This is the whole point behind Catford... You could drop a H Bomb on Catford and it wouldn't really change much in appearance.

Interesting, that for the somewhat tongue in cheek kind of thread this really is, there are those who believe that contrived "invasions" or "galactic collisions" from aliens or outer space objects will be the unifying force to help create a "one world government" and the pathway for the Anti-Christ.

For me, if it's true, I hope they tell us soon enough.  I'll stop making my mortgage payments three months early.

And for those of you who aren't aware of this, when it comes to pop culture and technology, Pittsburgh seems to lag behind the rest of the US.  Hence, why many people around here know, if you hear that the end of the world is coming, move to Pittsburgh. It won't happen for another 5 years.

LadyTeazer -> RE: Dec. 21st 2012, Planet X is coming, fact or fiction... (4/20/2009 11:38:33 PM)

This is a new one on Me.  I have heard that the world is supposed to end on that date, but not heard that this particular scenario will be the reason for it.

I have not looked at YouTube, nor the other link (apollonius), but just from reading what is posted in this thread, this sounds like a bunch of hooey.

"If" this race of big reptiles really does exist, they are going to need a lot of heat to keep themselves warm.  Presuming that they are cold-blooded, like the reptiles here on earth that we are familiar with.  That being the case, this planet of theirs is waaaay out there, at the very edge of our sun's gravitational field.  I'm no expert in astronomy, but, the last time I checked, the further out you get from the sun, the colder it gets.   A *lot* colder.  So cold that the outer planets have perpetually frozen surfaces because of the lack of heat from the sun.  And this planet - Nibiru - is out farther than the-planet-formerly-known-as-Pluto.  So.... that means this planet is inhabited by what - 10 foot tall lizard-sicles??

Another thought.  This planet is approximately the size of Neptune.  Which is big.  Between our earth-bound observatories, and earth orbit and long range space-mission telescopes, I would think this planet would have been spotted by now.  Or at least an area of space would look "unusual", or "suspicious", and be closely monitored.

So far, I have not heard of that happening.  Unless the government is covering it up, keeping it a secret from us.  Naaaah.  They would never do that.  But just the same, I think I will take a little trip to the grocery store, and check out those highly informative newspapers by the check out lines, to see what the current headlines are....

atypicalsub -> RE: Dec. 21st 2012, Planet X is coming, fact or fiction... (4/21/2009 12:26:45 AM)

This sounds like someone has cobbled together several different 'end of the world' predictions.

2012 is when the last cycle of the current Mayan calendar ends.  Some people have taken this to mean the world will end then.

December 21st is the winter solstice.  This is the pagan new year because it is the actual date when the earth reaches its furthest point from the sun and then begins moving closer again.  Hence, the end of the solar cycle.

LadyTeazer -> RE: Dec. 21st 2012, Planet X is coming, fact or fiction... (4/21/2009 1:09:44 AM)

You may be right about the cobbling together, atypicalsub.

In reading Panda's 'story', I can see a few references to 'Star Wars'.  And I am not a 'Star Wars' fan.

The name of the planet - Niribu.  "Naboo".

The very tall reptilian super-race.....  I forget the character's name, but he was the tall lizard kinda looking creature that attached himself to the two main Jedi characters (Obi-Wan and the other younger guy who's name I can't recall), and tagged along with them.  He had a long tongue, and while at the dinner table, he snaked it out to grab some food.

The population known as "Anakim".   Anakin.

I have heard that even though the Mayan calendar "ends" on that date, it may not mean anything forboding.   It is only one cycle ending, and another beginning.

I've also heard that the world may not necessarily "end".  It is just going to be "changed" somehow from the way we know it now.

No matter what happens, that date should be an interesting one, to be sure.

No doubt, someone will make a porn of this. (rule 34?)

Jar Jar Binks was his name

being the worst Star Wars character is his claim to fame

i thought the world was suppose to end on 12/12/12?

atypicalsub -> RE: Dec. 21st 2012, Planet X is coming, fact or fiction... (4/21/2009 9:55:35 AM)

Also the idea of another planet crashing into Earth is the main plot point of the 1950s sci-fi classic "When Worlds Collide".  Coincidently they are currently working on a remake of this movie due for release sometime next year.

Fuckin loons!

LadyHibiscus -> RE: Dec. 21st 2012, Planet X is coming, fact or fiction... (4/21/2009 12:32:13 PM)

One of my clients warns me annually about the end of the Mayan calendar.  I am not concerned.   If the world ends, though, I am totally scoring everyone's stuff.

Fitznicely -> RE: Dec. 21st 2012, Planet X is coming, fact or fiction... (4/21/2009 12:34:48 PM)

Meh,my calendars end 31st Dec every year. Haven't noticed the world disappearing recently....tho there's a few Jan 1st's I'd wished it HAD.
