ORIGINAL: slvemike4u Whether or not,as some are asserting ,he was forcing a point to make a point....in my view he made it clearly.....asserting one's rights are not in and of itself grounds for suspicion. If they were, what good is having the rights in the first place? As an afterthought?...a legal defence,or as a deterrent to unlawful searches? Actually, he was forcing a point to cause trouble. He should be sitting in jail for interfering with law enforcement in the performance of their duties. That is a crime. He came up with an antagonistic attitude trying to ignore what he was asked to do at a legal checkpoint. He was neither within his rights or even thinking about what is right. There is no constitutional right to be a beligerant asshat to men performing their duty. Since there are so many "nonracists" out there who will stop after passing through border checkpoints to pick up illegals who have snuck around them, these checkpoints have a valid reason for their existence.
