Other than these lovely boards, what books or blogs are you reading currently that you want to share?

I just put a book in a box to mail to someone
I have met on these boards.

Go Up For Glory by William Felton Russell

I have also been reading the manual that
came with my new motherboard, the details
about the Zenwalk operating system, and
various magazines and technical books.

I am also looking for a copy of Catch 22
because I want to read it again. I love
any reason to visit a used book store.

You can try Paperback Swap (http://www.paperbackswap.com/index.php) for trading books and also Title Trader (http://titletrader.com/) you send someone a book, then you can request a book. I havent tried them out, but it seems cool.

Ssssssssssssssshhh!!!

Really, I'm in the middle of A Factory of Cunning by Philippa Stockley and it's a wicked read - completely off my usual radar, but brilliantly written. It's an epistolary follow-up from Laclos' Dangerous Liaisons. I recommend it, with a warning: it's chick lit with a twist (ie. it takes an intellect just to get the language). Pure joy :-) .

I'm reading John Meaneys novels Bone Song and Black Blood. It's an interesting blend of sci fi and goth where a city lives off the dead.

I don't usually read a lot of fiction but I just recently decided to go back and read Dennis Lehane's "Patrick Kenzie and Angela Gennaro" detective series. I devoured all 5 within a couple weeks and just finished another of his called "Shutter Island." I loved them all but have to say that "Gone Baby Gone" - the 4th in the Kenzie series - was excellent. The movie was a pile of dung so erase it from your mind if you plan to read the novel :)

I'm also going back to read Rick Bragg's biographical books about his family - "All Over But the Shoutin," "Ava's Man," and "The Prince of Frogtown." They make me laugh and cry. Excellent writing all of them...............luci

My text books are the only things I have time to read lately.  However, in June the next Laurell K. Hamilton novel hits shelves.  I'll be in line for it on the day of arrival.  A friend has also promised to loan me The Marketplace series by Laura Antoniou.  Huzzah for summer reading!

Shadow Of The Giant by Orson Scott Card
But you really have to start at Ender's Game to understand it fully.

I'm hurt...and not in a delicously kinky way either.

"Snow Falling On Cedars", by David... what the hell is that guy's name? Shit, I've got to get up and go all the way across the damned hotel room and check. Everybody stay right here until I get back, you hear me?

OK, David Guterson. Why couldn't he have changed his name to Smith, or something easier to remember if he was going to write a book that I was going to want to talk about someday? Inconsiderate bastard. Anyway, it's an exquisitely crafted work of fiction, one of the most beautifully and meticulously written novels I've read in years. It's a perfect book for the vacation I'm on right now; I can't think of any book better suited for a couple of hours in the middle of a grove of redwoods or stretched out on a Big Sur beach.
