ORIGINAL: KnightofMists practice, training? mmmmmmmmmm I suggest you ask yourself this question! Which is more powerful in your mind... your trust and judgement on the skill and ability of your Mistress to use the fiberglass cane... or your fear and anxiety of being harmed by the said cane? The fiberglass cane itself ups the ante, and if my Mistress swung hard and caught my bone, I'd be injured. Even though she didn't swing that hard or really leave any marks, my deep tissues felt the paltry five (5) full strokes she administered after the warm up. When we were done, I took the cane and cracked it against the knuckles of my left hand, and it was clear to me that if I swung it hard it would simply break them, whereas wooden cane would not. In sum, the fiberglass cane strikes me as sexy in hand but dangerous/hazardous in use. Put another way, it takes skill to use and earned trust to endure. cloudboy, Are you talking about hollow or solid fiberglass rods? Like those used in fishing rod blanks are usually whippy. However like the carbon fiber, I'd encase them in something, I prefer platted leather and test them regularly bu flexing them. If ther are spungy then the fiber glass or carbon fiber is dammaged and need replacing. The same applies with rattan if encased as I learned with SCA swords untill I switched to fighting exclusively with a mace and shield. BTW the carbon fober and fiber glass arrow blanks flex nicely too.
