im looking to pick up a corset for my sub. I have a lot of corsets but I choose carefully because comfort is a must. You can pick up vintage corsets which are really beautiful but very expensive. They also tend to be very tiny. When choosing a corset go for a size under what she is. When you put it on, don't tighten it straight away but re-tighten after about an hour. Denim corsets are now out of fashion in the UK and so all of us that bought denim corsets no longer wear them. Be careful about buying a fashion corset. A traditional corset should last for years but a fashion one may only be for this season. Underbusts are probably the most versatile and look great when worn casually. Traditional Victorian corsets with the long fronts look beautiful but are a bugger to sit down in. Leather corsets will stretch and eventually will need to be worked on to get them back to there original size (unless of she puts weight on!) Just make sure you go for the real McCoy. I certainly would be careful about buying off the internet unless its a well recommended site. She really does need to try them on and have them adjusted if necessary, especially as they can cost serious money.

I like #2 and 4 best....all thatjaz is right about the longer corset being difficult to sit and maneuver around in...but of course if you're looking for movement restrictions that would be ideal. I don't have any experience with denim corsets...but I just bought a double-boned brocade one similar to #4 that fits like a glove. It's a bit trepidacious to buy online...sizes can vary, and make sure to know the refund policy. Of course, I would have to like the most expensive one...lol

#4 with the black swag is exquisite. #5 is stunning. I would have a tough time choosing between those two, and will be currently saving up for #4 myself now that I've seen it (and immediately lusted for it).

thank you everyone for your advice/opinions. my wallet is not as happy as it looks like #4 is getting bumped to the top of the list, however as the saying goes, "you have to pay to play". I am old enough to know that it is better to spend more money initially and buy something once, than buy a cheaper item and re-buy the nicer item when the cheap one falls apart. i will be looking around for local fetish/corset shops in milwaukee and chicago as i would prefer to get a custom made one locally. should i expect to spend about the same going with a local store if i opt for the custom made corset? thanks

Definitely go with #4!! It's beautiful. Very elegant and sexy. Try looking on eBay -- my former Dom bought me a leather corset with D-rings for $99.00. Can't really beat the prices there, and a lot of them will accept returns/exchanges. And if not...you can always re-sell it on eBay for a slight loss.
