either a retort to a retort or you are pissed off at the barber cause he didn't give you a close shave and you want him to do it again.

What?

You're being a little prickly, don't you think? Lighten up!

Such a short response is out of character, you're usually so multiloquent.

Perhaps, but it's so mellifluous that most people don't object.  I have an adoring audience.

Music to my years, yes.  Antipodal to my raspy musings.

New Zealand was fun for a while.  I was there for a month about 20 years ago.  Quite bucolic.

Pastoral, yes.  But New Zealand is also  famous for it's variegated landscape.

Have you ever been to New Zealand?  It's the same fucking landscape from one shore to the other.  Except for Rotorua, where the topography is positively heteroclite.

humm..well Rotorua may have differing forms...But speaking of differing forms have you ever seen a knee when its form is differing from being edemetous?

Do you mean edematous?

Rotorua smells edematous, come to think of it.

Edited to add: "Heteroclite" is more in the realm of "anomalous," "differing from the norm," than "having different forms."

I thought your DeNiro impression hit the mark squarely. I didn't find it prickly at all.  I admit, it isn't the BEST DeNiro I have heard, but it was in the upper crust.

So I am confused as usual, is there a word outstanding at this point?

I guess we're waiting to hear whether the word is really "edemetous," in which case I have no idea what it means, or whether it was supposed to be "edematous," in which case it's just too fucking gross to spend any more time on.

So I propose "larmoyant."

Aubade is a beautiful word...to go from edematous to aubade is to go from a swollen infected piece of flesh to a poem cursing the dawn because one has spent the night in the arms of one's beloved.

 "tearful, weepy: lachrymose"

Right?

Yes, and I was thinking of using "lachrymose" as my next one.  So much for that.

How about "vademecum"?
