Ok, time to let us know what's happenin' in May or how well you survived April.

Personally, I've survived a massive round of lay-offs, gotten a promotion and been heads down with longer than usual work hours. Though I was still able to find time to get the garden and yard work started--getting the rest of the vegs in this weekend.

Horse has another injury, oy, poor guy--but he will be fine, they heal rapidly.

I've enjoyed meeting some new people on here, love the new posters, fresh new insights and some very direct writers ( love those glib responses).

Some of the relationship posts have been very interesting and it was damn nice to stand with LaT and subtlebutterfly and say, hell ya I'm single and Im probably going to stay that way!

Anyway, wishing everyone a great May Day, Happy Cinco de Mayo and a prosperous, healthy and safe month of May.

Hello Cat:

I am doing just fine these days. Everything seems to be working my way.
I found out I am going to be promoted to relief manager at my own store. This means I won't have to travel any longer. Yeah.
BDSM lifetyle is picking up again. We have a new addition we are hoping to add to our family. It is not a poly situation, just Domme helping a young sub find his way.
That is about it.

Just about floated away with all the rain in April. Now for a little more dry, sunny weather. I love seeing all the trees and flowers showing their beauty.

I heard something zip by...that was probably April. I'm traveling to the parentals soon as the patriarch and I celebrate our birthdays together.

I cleaned house and tossed a bunch of toxic people out of my life. There's much brightness on the summer calendar - even built in time to rest the soul, read some books and not be hurried.

Ohhh let's see.

Most of my April was devoted to family stuff. My dad spent much of it in the hospital due to stuff of his own making. Alcoholic ketoacidosis. Wasn't a pretty sight at all. Fortunately, our family genetics being what they are, he has gone from grey and crawling around near death when they found him on the 9th, to back home and up and mowing the yard on the 29th. I would have never imagined the recovery I've seen in a seriously self abused 70yo.

Celebrated the 6th birthday of my first grandshortperson with a real motorized dirtbike and all the gear. 911 is on everyone's speed dial because he is bound and determined to be a dirt bike racer. His 5yo brother is right behind him.

I had my 47th birthday but it was a very very low key affair. No celebration at all. Just too much other stuff seemed to be going on. But I did get the present I asked for, a big box of clay (for sculpting) and some new tools to go with it. I am always switching up my art projects. The camera and canvases have been staring at me with resentful neglect but they will not stay that way. Just going to have to wait their turn. My gardens and horses will be taking up much of my time the next few months.

Which brings me to my re immersion in riding. When I gained weight I lost my riding edge. Felt clumsy and awkward on horseback. Couldn't hop on and off with ease like usual. Now that the weight has been coming off and the fitness routine is starting to really pay off. I am feeling "it" again. It feels totally AWESOME. I don't have deadhead horses, they need a very, on the ball, rider. Especially my youngster. I am almost back to 100% so that's all good.

The girls I was talking with, that were planning on coming here this month, flaked out. No surprise. I am beginning to wonder if it is because I am not as hungry for it. Kinda at a "I can take it or leave it." point. Shame really, because if they made it past that initial phase, they would have it damned good. I just cannot get into the hot pursuit mode though. C'est la vie, maybe someday.

Regardless of that, I am feeling so wonderful about life. It really is amazingly fabulous.

Yep. May.

May Day was my mom's birthday. & once upon a time it was the most celebrated holiday on the planet, when the Soviets celebrated it as a socialist people's holiday. That was always so fitting cuz my mom was such a socialist, feminist, activist type . .... . ... & then it also ties into Beltain, & the spring rites of pagans, & all that . . .. . .

This is the month that the 'summer blockbusters' start showing up in the movie theaters . .. . . The new X-Men, Star Trek, & Terminator flicks are supposed to be showing up soon, but I'll probably only go see the Star Trek one, with my sons . . ... .

College ends this month, so all my college-attending offspring will be foot-loose & fancy-free at the end of the month . ... . . & the eldest offspring got all motivated & we have a food garden this year -- tomatoes & melons, mostly . ... . .

I'm moving along my path, doing okay. Very glad I found the message boards here, I needed the 'community', even if it is just a website . ... . lol . . . .. . Tho' I rarely think of unrelated anyones as 'family' -- the crazy people with whom I share blood have kinda tainted that concept for me, lol . .... . . .

May is one of my favorite months of the year, the end of spring . . .. . &, yay, it's coming in nice & cool here, tho' it'll be freaking hot by the end of the month . .... . Good thing I like hot, hehehe . . . ..

I remember posting one month happy about my move and buying this place... oh yeah... remember the good ol days! lol I have said to myself more than a few times... what the hell was I thinking??!! lol Move in, everything breaks. lol I got through most of that so broke I couldn't pay the taxes but I think I have it worked out... soon... soon.

There may be some breaks coming if nothing else goes wrong! lol I am getting to know some guys who have rescued me a few times already. The crew around the park seem to like to talk a bit longer when they have contact with me and have helped a couple times besides the other guys, so I may have four men who are willing to jump in and help in a crisis! lol The one is sooooo cute... god if he was a tad bit older! woohooo! He said one day... I just want you happy! Well buddy, you are making me happy! Repeatedly! lol I talk money and he talks... just want you happy! Sweet! lol

I really scored at craigslist! I found a deal before anyone else could get the deal in cement I talked to the lady and she realized I really needed her brick and the price. So while I sit here, no medications because the doctors here aren't reading my medical records... my spine hurting so bad I could scream... I am planning on picking up 750 brick tonight. For a hundred dollars... I guess I can move heaven and earth to pick them up! I've got two guys, a truck and my van to do it with. Then we have to dig up the lawn and dirt and level it to put them out.

I bought a used chair and learned about the bugs from hell! I always thought that saying... good night, don't let the bed bugs bite... was a silly meaningless thing! Fooled me! Or rather, taught me a thing or two! My thirty dollar chair turned into a $600-700. chair! I feel toxic! But we fog and all that as soon as the weather permits. I cannot believe how much work these lil fuckers are! I have maybe twenty of the things and all this so they don't turn into thousands.

My lil bed friends have prevented any more contact at my house for a while because I wouldn't let anyone come in. I fired two that I was getting close to in the last two months. I still have some I am thinking about so we will see what the summer brings! I am thinking more poly than I have in a lot of years!

I haven't seen much of the grand um's because of the bugs... but the older one decided he really needed to see grandma and told his mom... "That's okay, bugs like me.. I can see grandma!" It is nice to be loved! lol

I'm alive & kicking...that's always a plus at the end of the month. I'm doing LOTS of bodypainting...damn shame none of it has been for money! Although that's the idea, upgrade the portfolio to be able to go after the money. Haven't played in forever; well, at least I didn't play during April. (hmmmm, did I play in March?) Good thing for me that #1 boy comes over to stay pretty frequently. At least I get to pet him. If I could just find a nice, new subbie who can come out to the parties & play...yadayadayada. That & $5 will get me a Grande Caramel Coffee Frappacino with a shot.

well, life is going to get interesting. seems that the economy has caused revisions in the current policy for residential treatment of adopted children. our funding runs out on may 21, so my son will return home without having made any significant headway in his treatment. he still refuses to talk, will not participate in therapy and has basically made the staff feel they're never going to make any headway, so they're giving up. he'll be coming home may 21. we'll still have weekly therapy, we'll have him in day treatment, we'll have some supports for dealing with him at home, but there isn't much you can do with a kid with such severe control issues.

school will be over for the summer break in two weeks. so far i have a B in biology and an A in my history class, despite telling my prof she was a lazy jerk. and telling her boss about it. hopefully she'll never make the same mistakes and cause the same mayhem for her students in the future. the three other boys are doing fairly well in school, i am pleased with their progress this year and we're looking forward to a summer of racing at the drag strip, possibly even a trip to cedar point.

on the health front, doc thinks i should be out of my cast on the left leg in about 6-8 weeks. i'm thrilled with that idea, but i'm concerned that i'm feeling differences in the bones in the right foot. my arch seems flatter, so i'm thinking it's time to look at a cast for stabilizing the right foot before it develops a rocker bottom like the left one did. i swear, i'm an orthopedic professor's dream, a continual teaching case! i'm finally off antibiotics after a year on them, so i'm looking to seriously boost my immune system.

cub did take his vega racing last weekend. he's still having problems getting the fuel delivery just right, she bucks and snorts on takeoff so she's not hooking just right yet, but she's running low 13's on motor and just normal pump gas. he gets the right tuning and gets her to hook, he'll be doing great! i can't wait!

Speaking of bugs ... we have a slight infestation at work, so I'm starting this month with a new (short) haircut. I've decided that any time I need an ego boost, I'll cut my hair short - EVERYONE has been complimenting it (even the oblivious male officers LOL).

Beyond that, our ground is still too wet from all the rain (it's raining right now, as a matter of fact) to put our garden in, so we may lose most of our plants at this rate *grumble* My parents have offered us some of their odd tomatoes (red/yellow striped, and black) so at least Holly and rob will have those.

We're talking to a couple of guys from the other side of the site, and one guy from another site that I like fairly well. The one who read the whole journal is quickly moving to the top of the list LOL.

We had to get a new tv, as our old one crapped out entirely; our chickens are getting big enough that they can almost flap their way out of their pen; and Pandi is so preg that I don't thing she's going to make it to the 10th at this point. There are at least 5 pups in there, possibly 6, and we've felt them moving. Pandi seems to be doing well, except that she can't jump down off my bed without making her tummy hurt, so she has to go down on the floor before I fall asleep (which, of course, she doesn't like).

What the hell....

April can go f itself. Spent almost two weeks of it sick as a dog (but it did get me posting here again) Had a ton of projects due for school and half the time to do them. Because I get bronchial infections a fair amount, all my idiot buddies are threatening to call CDC and rat me out as ground zero for the swine flu. Jerks.

May will be better. I'm done with my semester at 10am on Tuesday and am off until May 18th, when I start my summer class, of which I'm only taking one each session. as of right now, I don't have any plans for my time off, but that's cool, I'll just recharge the batteries, spend time with the family and play as much golf as I can.

Memorial Day weekend is the annual trip to the lacrosse final four, which is a great experience for anyone who's even remotely interested in the sport. Plus I'm sure the lovely ladies here wouldn't mind seeing 20 young men running around hitting each other with sticks.

well celebrated Master's birthday in April, my uncle's birthday, as well as Master's and my six month anniversary, his mom's birthday fell on our anniversary so he was a busy man trying to keep two women happy lol. She got him during the morning, he rested in teh afternoon and he was all mine that night.
Surviving Apple Blossom here in town by staying home as much as possible. too many tourists and locals trying to cruise and show off their cars (a car is a car people!)

Been spending the last week and a half getting ready for my trip to see Master, I fly out on May 8th and will be there for a week which will be fun and I'll be collared then as well. The weather's nicer so I'm hoping to have more time to go out and take pictures, need to update my portfolio and get some new stuff in there.

Master and I will continue to work on a fear of mine, it's fallen to the wayside this last week as he has house guests that seem to be getting cozy. A few broken water pipes have turned into a two week project as new leaks keep popping up at their house.

I'm kind of hopin I will be allowed a pet fish when I get back from seeing Master, he's given me his permission a few months ago but I wanted to wait until I got back so the fish wouldn't be left here for a week alone.

edited to add: try to get hurt less in the month of May than I did in April. You'd think someone as clumsy as I am would learn to watch their feet, but when I do that I hit my head.... no more serious injuries this month (just thankful I got the tetnus shot when I did lol)

April was a month of inner journey and contemplation..
as well as getting to know the BDsM community here in Edmonton..
I did a lot more grief work around the death of my husband/sub of 20 years .

Having retired from teaching and moving to the big city has been an adjustment...however I moved here for the BDsM community and ot pursue my art...and so far so good.
IN April i received news that faithful slave b will be transfered back here from Ottawa on May 14th and we will again continue our relationship..
I have met play friends...here... and also am getting to know some Dommes..I approached several about a Domme "support" group and it may occur.

I released 15 more lbs for a total of 110 now..

finally the snow has gone...and a robin sings by my window..

As a witch

I celebrate this HOLY DAY several ways
but my favorite is not possible...
no slave here today...

so I will call circle my self.
