He is definitely a rarity.
I don't even allow men to go shopping with me, because I cannot stand the pathetic faces, bitching and whining...   And all that before we leave the house.    M

I am not that much of a shopper. I've had ten years of living in working-class America to teach me how not to want because I can't afford it. Girls with size ten orthopedically challenged feet and F cup bras don't shop at the mall anyway; that stuff has to be ordered specially. And due to said orthopedically challenged feet, walking round all day at the mall is right out, especially if it's a standard one where they don't make the clothes that either fit me or I want to wear, and sell a lot of crap I don't want.

But put me in front of a kitchen supply place, a specialty food import shop, or a bookstore, and hold onto your wallet; I can shop for books, for kitchen gadgets, and for verjuice and proscuitto and imported Stilton like you wouldn't believe.... An ideal day for me, quite frankly, involves a trip to the international grocery store and a used bookstore, home and a hot bath with new book and nice music in the background, and then a nice dinner out with good conversation. And some hot sex once dinner settles. (grin)

But the slave has to be a bit of a fashionista.  I want to be able to ask for an opinion about an outfit and get an intelligent reply.  "Yes, Ma'am, you look fabulous *drooldrooldrool*" is not an answer to the question of whether this blouse goes with this skirt or would the blouse go better with those slacks.

I would never ask a straight man for fashion advice.  You will be told that you look fabulous in strappy sandals worn with striped socks, a flowered skirt, and a checked flannel shirt, and that your bum does not look big in it.

And.....?

This hits the nail on the head.  TM

Here is the more relevant question:

How many subs would honestly go through with it vs. just want to talk about it and wank to the idea?
How much money does a sub think a good shopping trip costs?  One sub was begging me to do this and he kept telling me about the money and the amount he had in mind was ridiculous - these guys don't buy womens' shoes or lingerie and just don't know.  I think the only "humiliating shopping trip" they can afford is to the dollar store.

Wow I didn't expect this topic to gain so much interest. But it's nice to see so many different views.

Akasha was right in saying that most subs love to talk about it and wank to the idea. And a year ago that would have been me (not wanking, I'm a good boy). But I thought I'd just let you know that I did go shopping in the end with a female friend. I carried her bags, followed her around the shops, bought her lunch and a coffee but passed on the foot massage. And to be honest, I was so bored! It definately wasn't what I expected it to be (but thinking about it now I'm not sure what I did expect). But I wished I had checked out prices before so I knew what I was getting myself into. Lingerie and shoes are so much more expensive than I thought!!! But I had a fun time with my friend and it was nice to spend time with her so I can't complain too much.

That's one less thing off my to do list now.

Did someone say SHOES MADE OF CHOCOLATE?

Yes, they actually have them: http://gayleschocolates.com/subcategory.php?cid=2&sid=69 I especially like the gold and silver ones.

Sylvere, I'm with you on that - the last time I bought jeans, I tried ones on from the girl's, boy's, men's, petites, and juniors departments before I decided which ones I wanted. Most stores don't carry bras in my size at all. *sighs* It seems like every manufacturer has their own private definition of sizes. For some reason, business-type clothes are a lot easier - I'm almost always a 5/6P in them.

I tried on a pair of women's jeans by mistake, once.  God, women are a weird shape.  I thought: "What the f*** is going on?  I know these will fit at the hips, but why can't I pull them past my knees?"  I'd never noticed that women have much smaller knees than men, before.   Feet, yes - I'd seen that - but not knees.

[rant]Actually, women's jeans are shaped weird, lately! I still have a couple of pairs left from when I was in high school, that still fit just the way I like them. The stupid low-rise ones aren't meant to be worn by women. If they're big enough to go over my hips, I can stick both my fists in the waistband (one in front of the other) and take them off without unbuttoning or unzipping them. Somehow, in spite of being so huge, they still dig into my hips, and are too tight in the crotch. The only people I've met who they fit properly are the junior high girls on my gymnastics team. Women's clothing manufacturers should be forced to wear the darned things with ugly, unflattering belly shirts in neon colours until they are willing to make ones that actually fit their customers. Forget the new style of jeans, Andalusite.  They seem to be cunningly designed to make women with even the most perfect figures look like they've got elephantiasis.  It's astonishing.  They make flat bellies look fat and good bums look as though they've dropped down to the knees.  You'd be better off covering your legs in glue then sticking family-sized tents to your legs.

I hate womens jeans.... I only wear mens jeans. Well, I do have some from the juniors store that fit nicely. Or they did before I lost all this weight.

Levis 501's are the answer, I can buy them blind, they are unisex, 28/32 - we are in business, no changing rooms, no nasty surprises with "Ewww, why on earth do I look pregnant?" or "Gosh, I do believe in waxing with those jeans i better not miss the next waxing appointment or people will know - AND they make me look ENORMOUS"

Levi 501s?  But the buttons on them make a man's lunchpack protrude and look bigger than it is.  Don't they have an  . . . . untoward  . . .  effect on the way women look in that area?

I can see a lot of guys now rushing off to buy 501's, they should pay you commission.... Actually I never noticed that effect but then I usually don't stare at crotches all that much (is there something you care to tell us <wink wink nudge nudge>?

But since women usually don't have a lunchpack, there is no such untoward effect, but should people start calling me "lad" or "Sir", I will possibly stop wearing them....

501's always made us gals with no ass look like we had a bit of one.  But you could ware them with any figure and they looked good.  They are just the perfect jean!  And believe me... as a former bartender who saw a lot of 501's bent over a pool table... I know a good jean when I see them! hehe

I have quite a bit of a bubble butt (much to my annoyance) but it still looks alright in 501's, plus they are incredibly comfy. I just will be more suspicious to guys wearing them after Peon's observation ;)

That's the problem, while some guys think curvy is good, for us women it's more of an awkward shape that's difficult to dress in everyday life, and no matter what, we don't want butts to look big...

Gloria Vanderbilt still makes normal fitting jeans.  I like the Veronica style since it's a more tapered fit but they have the regular straight-leg style too.  Pay a visit to your local JC Penny's and pick up a few pairs.  You won't be sorry.
