I always thought 'marriage' was the "old ball and chain" for men designed by women for women......

most men don't fantasize about their wedding day or need a relationship to be heading toward more commitments......

Worse, their are laws in place that if you live with more than several women in your place that are of age, common law says you are married to your non-relatives? GAH, hard to have a harrem when you gotta move every few years or you get stuck in common law marriages (bigamy)......

Now I understand why the mormons have the women all in their own little house ;/

On the other hand, one female is enough of a pain in the neck to deal with. That is why guys developed the "guys night out". Its not so much about guys going out as it is getting away from the nagging......

If your happily married, I feel sorry for you. Time flies when your having fun, if you're happily married, you'll be dead before you know it. People forget that they want to be unhappy though, and then they get a divorce. Then they repeat the cycle. Just enjoy your misery and be unhappily married, or better yet, never get married in the first place!

Another 'slave auction' thread!  Quelle surprise!   To hell with 'local'.  You should be organising them nationally!

 
If this kind of event was held (or is held) in your area, would you attend?  What do you like about the idea?  Why does the idea turn you on or off?
 
Yes, absolutely I'd be interested - though I doubt the show would come to England, so I'd have to flit across the pond for it.  No male doms for me, though, I'm afraid.   On the other hand, I think I've collected enough of a 'portfolio' now to be of use to most dommes.  The idea of being property, to be bought and sold, is enough of a turn-on on its own.  As for being 'lent on' to other dommes by my owner - that's a buzz magnified.

I don't think a lot of activities would do a great deal for me unless I already knew the domme who'd be kind enough to 'buy' me.   I've been flogged to bits in BDSM clubs by unknown dommes who've requested it and not got a thing out of it - it's felt like a favour.  But the preceding process of the auction itself would give me enough of a buzz to see me through, I think. 

Tell me, did you watch Spartacus, with Kirk Douglas, as a little girl - and was it that film that first got you thinking about slave auctions?  I think it was that film that first did it for me - though I barely understood what I was feeling at the time.

However, I think I'd want to be there for the bidding...that would be the really humiliating part, discussions about what you're worth, ignoring that you're sitting there blush. I see the logic about not allowing the girls in there, however, don't want to hurt feelings.

Status: offline 		Would I attend an event like this?  Absolutely!  My first submissive and I attended one of these at her club down in Arkansas.  I put her up for auction, her list of what she was/was not allowed to do for a scene read, and the bidding began.  Watching other dominants bid for her services was a turn on in and of itself as was watching her excitement when a dominant she liked "bought" her.  Watching him scene/play her was the appetizer for my own scene with a submissive that I bought...one I had met on my trips to see my submissive before. 

When we got back to our "place", the ...reclamation...of each other as what belonged to us made the whole evening a feast.

We'd both love to watch the auction. And, if a female sub caught my eye, I'd jump in the bidding to "buy" a sister sub for My little girl and play with both of them.
Definitely sounds like fun!

Status: offline 		The closest I ever got to a slave auction personally was when I was just starting to be able to explore D/s and I used to go in the MSN rooms, one of which was called "the slave auction"-you had to "bid" by being the last to type a number (going up incrementally) within 1 minute and you got to play for an hour with who-ever put themselves up for sale.

Not the same as what's being talked about here by a long way, but it was fun at the time.Oh, happy days.

Status: offline 		I have attended an event that had a slave auction, I and debbie actually participated, and purchased a slave. It was her first scene, (the slave), and my first scene with someone other than debbie (my wife). Turns out it was about the best time any of us has ever had. The rules were fairly simple, all participation was voluntary, with each auctionee allowed to set their own limits on service. the money was in the form of tickets purchased at a low price, and with games and competitions allowing oppertunities for people to acquire more. Proceeds were used to offset the costs of the party, with any surplus being donated to a worthy charity. The couple who threw the party has moved away, and that group is no more. We have tried set up similar parties in our local group, with some limited success. If your local group ever holds events, slave auctions are a great way to increase participation.

I would like to add that participation in local groups is almost always a positive experiance. Even for monogamous couples who would never play in public, a good local group is an excellent source for education, emotional and moral support, not to mention a place to find new friends. I always recommend that anyone who is interested in any aspect of BDSM should check out their local group or groups.

Honestly there was none of that at the auction where I was sold off. No one was discussing how much the girls were worth and there was no huge price difference in between the various people. Definately the person being auctioned off wasn't ignored at all - people asked me for further details about what I would and wouldn't do while I was being auctioned off and asked me to pose in particular ways. It was all very fun and light-hearted and they were bidding real money.

Status: offline 		Reading over this and the responses gave me a thought.  I do happen to own a small civic center in SW Virginia... and being the sole owner I can book anything I like there.  Its in the Blacksburg area.  Now I would not know the first thing about organizing such an event, but if someone else were interested in doing so, I'd be willing to work with them.  Depending on how many decided to turn out, I might be able to get some discount rates with local hotels and such.

The one catch is this is a conservative area, so the event would have to be closed to the public, strictly monitored to keep it private, and advertising would have to be done either through sites like this or through area munch groups (of which I'm not presently involved in any of them so have no contacts there).

Anyone interested?
