Rant warning!!!
So this week I am minding my own business and posting silliness and reading and perving a bit and doing all that stuff we do on CM, when I get a note from someone who tells me I am on a "Fakes and Liars" list.  It seems my zip code did not correspond correctly to my location, ergo I am a fake/liar.
It appears there are a couple of people who have taken it upon themselves to decide which names they see on CM are fakes and liars and are publishing them on a blog.  Granted, I read some of the names and they scream Nigerian scam artist but I was pretty incensed about the whole thing.
Who gets to decide if I am a fake?
I don't even look for mates here, I just enjoy the company of like minded people.  There is nothing in my profile that says..hey baby let me send you some fake cashier checks for your valuables. Nothing that says...come on...lets do the horizontal tango!
I thank the person who alerted me to this, and I thank the person who took me off his list, even though a couple of people had to go all dom on him to get him to do so.
Rant over.

People have all kinds of silly criteria for such lists, personal disputes alone are sometimes enough. Hopefully the list owner has been appointed by the high council of BDSM otherwise I'll give their list no credibility at all.

I sit on the board of selectors as it happens and we decide on the cut of their jib.

If you were a real person, I would reply to your post.

Man, I never make the good lists. Or the bad lists. Is it your fault, Steven?

(On a serious note, I wonder if CM is doing anything about this? It screams "fake" to me!)

See, the people who have brains and actually use them just send me an email and ask me why my location comes up as Virginia, but I appear on their New Jersey search list.  And then I write back and nicely explain that I used to live in Jersey, but moved to Virginia, and there is a glitch in the program here somewhere that still pops my profile up on the NJ list, even though I changed my location in the profile.  And they say thank you and go away feeling informed.

And then some people make lists and email people of that fact, and then feel vindicated.

Wind, me too. I've lived in Myrtle Beach, S.C. for almost five years now but it says "New Hampshire" under my pic and I can't seem to find a way to fix it.

Do they list the reason you're being on the list as a faker? I just love the reasoning some people use in deducing things.

Like one time, this woman wanted to brand a sub as an absolute lyer fake poser and time waster, just because after talking for two hours they didn't come to an agreement to meet in person.

I never spoke to the person before. They looked at my profile and decided it was fake cos my state and my zip didnt match up. I am going to make sure from now on Raechard likes the cut of my jib (whatever that means) and that I have lots and lots of doughnuts!

Only the list holders get to see who is on the list otherwise anybody could infiltrate the system and add people.

Although one could presume thishereboi that the fact you don't know how to find the list is evidence enough, I rest my case.

And that is why black lists will never be allowed officially on collarme.com To many ways to list users as fakes with no proof but personal opinion:)

It isn't rocket science to be able to determine the scammers and I see no reason why we need monitors watching over us and exposing who they perceive as fakes.  I can really understand the urge to want to warn people of someone you have experienced and know to be doing certain things, but you just can't do that!

I got pegged and reported this last week as well, but my zip code was correct.  So it left me wondering if his was!  Or if it was a problem in the system.  No way is PA 51 miles from MO.  LOL.. yet I was reported.  That is a bit scary because with a certain amount of reports, your profile could be gone or you can't use it for a time.

I cannot believe how many are slandering people by name in their journals and the arguing that goes on between journal one and two...lol  But, if people report their entry... yes, in a form of policing, but also helping those that work for CM to know what's going on, I think we will have less people policing in a way that is wrong.  In going with the rules and naming people in a journal... I have no problem with reporting the person. (I won't do it every time I see it... only in extreme cases where there are list basically)  That is the only way I can see these police being stopped... by I guess policing them.  I don't plan to seek them out, but when I see it, I might just report it.

I looked at a number of those list and that is where I summed things up for myself.  I saw a number of people I knew were not fakes.  Some of those guys were actually doing nothing more than going around looking at profiles and creating their list.  Some even had names or claimed with a link who they were.. like... fruad finders.com

A jib is a sail on a sailing vessel. Thus it's cut is very important to the functioning of the ship . . .. .

When I was first on I was contacted by some people claiming to be running a fake-checking service for dominants . ... . I note that they did not seem to either last very long (sounds like a lotta work to me, time intensive & all that), nor did they seem to have much effect one way or the other . ... . .

& people consider me to be all kinds of less-than-flattering things -- I frequently see it as a mark of honor, but then I'm a big freak . . ..

Funny you should say that because the only two profiles I ever felt the need to report were ones that mention other names in a derogatory fashion. I feel everyone deserves the right of reply and lists don't give that.

Although having said that I've just listed Lockit for admitting to having unholy submissive urges.
