are you the person the person you want, wants?

take stock and see if you offer what he would want, if not then look for someone that will want you

and if you're on a site like this you have to say what you offer in an interesting way, and get a cute avatar, but the gosling is taken. the gosling gets more responses than I do, really

It's usually along the line of cute duck, then i have to correct them and soon we have a dialog going, don't laugh it works

I'm sorry to piggyback on this thread, but I'm having awful luck myself, and am getting very frustrated. If anyone could suggest minor things that might be offputting in my profile I would greatly appreciate it.

If you're looking for a partner, don't use this as your only source.. get out.. meet people offline.. and use this is just a supplement

That is good advice. I have been too timid to do to much of that but maybe it would be a more productive approach.
