Cao Cao is actually a western mispronounciation, it is pronounced Tsao-Tsao and his son was Tsao-Pi (often sadly called Cow Pee in western mispronounciation)
Niven and Tolkein are incorrect

Short Scale 10 12 (I don't know how to put the little 12 for 12th power)

MasterG2kTR -> RE: Trivia, D vs. s Game-VII (5/9/2009 9:18:03 PM)

1x10^12 as opposed to 1,000,000,000,000 ????

there are subs lurking if you look at the top of the page....just none feeling brave enough to jump in

igor2003 -> RE: Trivia, D vs. s Game-VII (5/9/2009 9:18:42 PM)

long scale is one million times greater than short scale

Vaughner -> RE: Trivia, D vs. s Game-VII (5/9/2009 9:18:49 PM)

10^12 is scientific notation.
We are looking for the difference between Long and Short Scales.

Current Question
What is the difference between a Long Scale Trillion, and a Short Scale Trillion in mathmatical terms?
Expires: 12:30AM EST

mystickoolaid -> RE: Trivia, D vs. s Game-VII (5/9/2009 9:19:25 PM)

the long scale is 1,000,000 difference

the short scale is 1,000 difference

So, any number is going to be 999,000 different than it's counterpart on the other scale

Every new term greater than million***

Vaughner -> RE: Trivia, D vs. s Game-VII (5/9/2009 9:20:25 PM)

Igor scores it
Dominants: 28

In the movie "Deep Blue Sea" when the Chef finds a camera and decides to leave his "mark on the world" what recipe does he record himself giving to the camera?
Expires: 12:45AM EST

mystickoolaid -> RE: Trivia, D vs. s Game-VII (5/9/2009 9:21:15 PM)

He was wrong. The short scale increases it by 1,000

The long scale by 1,000,000 the difference is 999,00... the difference increases every time and its already morning here (math not good right now) so I am not sure what the actual difference would be but it wouldnt be an even million it would be the long scale increase minus the short scale increase.
