yes...indeed...damn later...or word like "soon"...or when someone tells me we are going to meet for a "few" days...am sure that my definition of few is much longer then his will be...

To paraphrase Steve Martin: I can't shove a Cadillac up my nose.
I'm pretty sure I can't get away with claiming to have a PhD during my next job interview.
I know for a fact that I can't get my fat ass into a pair of 36" jeans.

BTW: It's: 10 items or FEWER, not less...

Just sayin'...

The phrase "it was all he (she, they...) could do to...

For example: It was all he could do to keep from laughing.

The problem: The writer never says what IT is!!!

I've even seen well established authors use this maddening phrase.

The one that drives Me absolutely insane is "holla" as in holla back. It has got to be the laziest concept of a word on the planet.

In some cases, maybe they should say "I shouldn't eat fish because of allergies". But I have no problem with them saying "can't". I'm an amputee. I can't touch my toes on my right leg.

For me, hearing the word AWEsome!

The word in general chaps my ass, but especially when it is said kind of close to how I wrote it.

You may have heard someone in a high pitch squeal say the first syllable and then on a down note for the second... thus...

AWEsome!!!

Or the ever popular "OH MY GOD!!! That is SOOOOO AWEsome!!!"

...sheeessshhhh...

or

"You can if you think you can."

or

"Well, we won't know until you try."

Or something along those lines.
