YourhandMyAss -> Do you really think some people who post the rudest things could mean " no harm" (5/14/2009 12:06:13 PM)

I see it all the time, , they post something in the rudest way possible,   like for example do you all really do collaring ceremonies, they're bull sh it and you're making a bigger to do about a collar that needs to be made of, and then when the back lash of that comes flying their way, they're like what, why is this jump on me day, I just asked a question, or holy shit you're all catty today.

I have a hard time believing these people when they insist  they meant no harm and just wanted to ask a question. If you meant no harm why be so derisive and belittling and condescending in asking your question. Surely they must do that knowing people will take offense.

What do you all think? Do you think they meant no harm, or they intentionally asked in a rude as possible way and then want to play innocent and are disingenuous when they say why are you jumping on me I didn't do anything wrong?

Hello YHMA.

I think some do, and others do not. Depends upon the individual, their intent (which we may never know) and their own unique writing style and/or sense of humour. Maturity and insecurity will both, also play a part in it.

That's true, I know one time someone asked me could I be any more of a bigger bitch and heartless, to a reply I made to someone, and I actually wasn't trying to be bitchy or cold, I was dead serious and being helpful in my own eyes too.

I just dealt with one of these this morning.  Totally rude, addressed me out of no where, with all venom and no real substance...clearly just spoiling for a fight.

I don't really try to figure it out, people have all sorts of issues, could be I hit a hot button inadvertently, or I disagreed with a friend of hers, or she's carrying a grudge because her man flirted with me, who the hell knows.

I do make an effort to keep my debates between myself and others who I see as smart and worthy of a good listen.   When I see someone who relies on snark instead of logic, I usually let them have at it and just move on to someone else who I respect enough to talk to.

As for OPs who come out of the gate itching for a shit-storm, well, they usually get called out on it.

YoungBlondeSlave -> RE: Do you really think some people who post the rudest things could mean " no harm" (5/14/2009 12:45:04 PM)

i think some do it just to be callous. i posed a question here about a month ago and i had one guy going off on me constantly about how since i had a limit i wasn't a slave and i should re-classify myself as a sub just because i had a few limits. On and on it went and he was completely stymied as to why people might get upset at him for saying such a thing. i don't know if it was ignorance or just his preference, we'll never know...don't care much, actually. Damn, was that being rude?

But then, i know that i get lots of CMail from "Doms" who'll say things "get on your knees and worship My Cock you stupid fat bitch cunt slut...." and i tell them that's not really the way to approach a sub (or slave). Then, they get pissed at me for trying to tell them what to do...i mean, i get off on verbal humiliation but, don't start in on something like that. And, i have no idea what their intentions are when i get messages like that...God forbid they think it's a turn-on.

Anyway, that's what i think.

The only thing that really drives me batshit crazy is when I am debating an issue and someone is either totally missed my point, regardless of how I try and explain it..... OR purposely twisting what I have written all around, to suit their argument.

I want to reach through my computer screen and bitchslap them.

Either that or after i tell them i'm not getting on camera. But no, i've really gotten a few initial CMails like that. It boggles the mind.

I'm convinced that people do this as a strategy when you've "cornered" them with a point that they would otherwise have to concede to.

YourhandMyAss -> RE: Do you really think some people who post the rudest things could mean " no harm" (5/14/2009 12:57:32 PM)

Yup, yup, yup. Have had that happent o me too.
remember one time I asked a question about that lap band surgery, and how weight loss on that program works, and if you can loose weight on a special program how come people can't do it regularly following the same principals, but no surgery? Well you know I really did want to know, having had someone suggest lap band surgery to me many times. Most people took my question at face value and answered however a lot of people decided I was taking a crack at fat people, and got really really rude, and turned the whole thread into a back and forth flame fest, even though I explained what I meant over and over and no it's not an attack on fatties as they called it

YourhandMyAss -> RE: Do you really think some people who post the rudest things could mean " no harm" (5/14/2009 1:05:18 PM)

I contacted a dom on here saying he really should fix  his profile, since it said he was submissive, and I got this huge letter about how remember he's the master so I must call him Master ............... and what he expects from me as his sub and how I will be submissive and very obediant and stuff.

When i told him off in email he never responded, and that's fine no need to It's actually classier in my opinion to just go away once you';ve made a fool of yourself.

hi YHMA!  some folks just are willing to do anything to get attention.  if stirring up a hornet's nest will do it, then they'll have at it.  best way to deal with them is ignore them.

Patience, lovely...patience.

Yes, I have noted it too.  Funny thing is, it doesn't seem to matter much which forum you go to...you can find it in the serious sections (usually from the one-twue-way-ers OR from the everything's-a-joke-so-why-do-I-Have-to-be-serious crowd) and you can damn sure find it in the political section, usually used as a way of avoiding a direct answer to a direct question.

Yup. I usually do ignore them but today I was just bored enough to pose the question lol.

BKSir -> RE: Do you really think some people who post the rudest things could mean " no harm" (5/14/2009 1:42:43 PM)

I have to agree with pretty much everyone on here.  Sometimes, hell, even I've done it, we all just phrase something wrong, we're having a bad day, we just read something a little wrong, misunderstand something tiny, and it makes a huge difference and a shitstorm ensues.  Even the most awesome person is going to have a bad or an off day.  Just how things go unfortunately.

Then there are those that are just plain ol assholes and are looking to pick a fight.  To them... well, I don't have time to bother with them.  I have enough headache in my own life without other people trying to give me more.  Why do you think I try to avoid the political boards for the most part.  I'm not big on Maso-necro-beastiality (the beating of dead horses for amusement).  I can argue with a brick wall at home easily enough, I don't need to do it somewhere I come to relax and enjoy the company.

YourhandMyAss -> RE: Do you really think some people who post the rudest things could mean " no harm" (5/14/2009 1:52:32 PM)

I think you can tell the difference between who is who, by their post history, because any one can put their foot in their mouth big time, now and then. like you said even the most awsome people do it, However the proof may be in the pudding so to speak, when someone is ALWAYS offending others or always seems to be mis understood. If people around you always seem to be offended with you and by what you say, the common denomonater in that is YOU! * you being generic you and not BK or any one else*

ME!?  ME!?  I'm offended!  I'm... I'm... nah, not really. ;)  But yeah, I know what you mean there.  Everyone is entitled to the occasional case of pedal-oral inversion syndrome, and even the rare bout of cranial-rectal inversion syndrome.  And, like I said, there are those rare few that are just plain jerks.  Which one I am really depends on who you ask. ;)
