Or some people dont realize they come across as snarky (Ive been informed im rather snarky and am working on it) But you cant convey tone, hand and body language with text. so if your a big other then word conveyer its hard to translate you flinging your arms about the room in a text box. Personally i think its not just some people being snarky and jerkful. alot of people will take offense to something to start a flame war.. because it makes it more "interesting"

The only thing that really drives me batshit crazy is when I am debating an issue and someone is either totally missed my point, regardless of how I try and explain it..... OR purposely twisting what I have written all around, to suit their argument.

I want to reach through my computer screen and bitchslap them.

I agree with you here, and take it one step further.....when you're debating, and in the heat of the momentum of your typing, you use generalized pronouns, thinking the main point is getting across to the people with brains.  But, someone always comes back with something like "We???  What do you mean by the word We???We ALL don't do that.  How can you say WE when there ARE some people who don't....."  and so on.

Or, as you say, twisting your words around to totally change the meaning of what you meant, and eventually turning the whole thing into a major pissing match.
