I can think of a bunch of stuff, but I assume you want it to be for a purpose more than I said so. But do you want it specifically sexual or bdsm w/ise, or a command like get up right now and go to a salon and have your fingernails painted.  Do you want it to be absolutely possible, or do you want them, to use their imagination. These parameters help with the amount of creativity one can have.

A lot of people here view that differently and it's understandable, because you have some kind of real life basis, you met you know each other you've touched and breathed and shared each others space Vs, someone who you've never seen never met and the pc is all you've ever shared. They will accept real life relationships that go online only for periods of time, and will go real life again vs soley online.

I'm not saying they're right, but I know this to be their thoughts on it, since people have stated as much personally here before.

They can read a book of your choosing, or see a movie you select then report to you

They can volunteer at a local charity or take a class in something of your choosing.

I like the games idea and the ones Calandra posted. While my boy is gone we'll be going on 'virtual dates'. One of us will think of something interesting and then we'll both research together and share what we've found (sort of like going around a museum). While this may sound harsh, there is no denying that it is good advice and a well expressed observation. And yet I understand that some people are unable or unwilling to do just that, either due to self inflicted  limitations, or due to limitations that they cannot control, and yes, sometimes they are one and the same.

In any case whatever works, and however people chose to relate, is none of my business. I do however think there is little hope for people who lack even the imagination to engage in mutual masturbatory fantasies and need to come here for help, but whatever.


I also have to admit, as an observation, that having read through this thread it all sounds kind of sad and lonely, and I am reminded that we humans are so terribly in need of interaction with others that even the most tenuous link is better than none at all.

Calandra's list was wonderful.

During my LDR we did things like read the same books at the same time, then I would write him an email each day to tell him what I had read and how I felt about it.

We would do lots like that, watch the same shows, have baths at the same time etc to feel connected.

I gave him an itemised list of my wardrobe so he would tell he what to wear on specific days
Told me to go for walks
Take photos in specific poses

It was quite micro management really because of the lack of 'physical' play

I totally agree that real life is always superior to cyber but sometimes it is unavoidable to be apart.
So here are a few ideas I have thought about.
1.Give them some of the assignments already talked about but make them keep a journal.  How did it feel, were they embarrassed, excited, humiliated?

I have had a long distance SM relationship (online as well as offline).

I don't understand what people mean when they write "real live only, no online". Online can be very real.
