i have no knowledge of tarot. i actually thought you had to be present in person to do cards?

but, sure.....

Aylee -> RE: tarot readings. (5/20/2009 6:55:25 AM)

I have a set of cards. . . do I need to lay them out and tell you what they are?  Or will you lay out a set for me?

Not necessary angel. Cards readings can be done without the other person being present with the reader!

[sm=waves.gif]  Sign me up, Lally, I used to read tarot all the time and know you need practice. I use the Tarot of the Cat People deck, ohhhhh, how I love the artwork! That deck has worked marvelously for me for years.

If you need any info, just cmail me.

Out of curiosity, will you be using the Tree of Life spread or the standard 10 card layout?
I'd be interested....been several years since I've had mine read and though I do own 3 decks, I won't do a reading on myself!

lally2 -> RE: tarot readings. (5/20/2009 8:28:35 AM)

hey dark. the deck i use is The Secret Forest, its a beautiful deck, i love it.  i was going to do the gypsy spread but seeing how many have volunteered, plus some have put their hands up on the other side, i might have to just do the celtic cross instead.

anyhoo, thanks guys, and maybe thats enough for right now - wow i was only expecting a couple of folks.

and no aylee, its possible to get a reading this way too.

Ahhh grasshopper...the future is fluid and any signs point to only to a possibility. Each choice we make now changes what may be!

Da very one!!!! I pick up a new set whenever I find one because the strong bond I have with it. I've scared the snot out of people with some readings. I think that it has the most incredible art work, I love the colours and da kittehs. [;)]

plushiecat -> RE: tarot readings. (5/20/2009 11:07:47 AM)

Fast reply time! :)  There are likely thousands of Tarot decks out there, one to suit anyone's needs or looks.  The site DesFIP pointed to barely touches the surface. :)  I read a bit still (I use the Crowley-Thoth deck), and used to collect decks.  Most of them are beautiful.  I have always loved the language of symbolism, so the Tarot really spoke to me on that level.  I'm also a bit of an art geek, and love them for that reason as well.  :)  As for whether the recipient of the reading needs to be there, like so many other things, it depends on whom you ask.  :)  Some feel it's important for the person asking to touch the cards so that the question can be 'charged' into the cards, others have the 'hands off mah deck!' point of view.  I've done readings for people near me, and via the web, both with reasonable results each.
