Every time I come on this site there always seams to be at least one board asking this question or a variation on it, have slaves not discovered the answer yet? Do they think that by asking this question they are going to appeal to the better judgment of lady dominants everywhere? I could be wrong though I think the reason why a reasonable proportion of female dominants ask for money is because they want it? If slaves do not want to give them it to them that seams to be the slaves problem and not the dommes. I can understand and appreciate that some of these poor guys are getting frustrated though do they really think that asking the question is going to change anything, particularly when they usually do it in such a derogatory way?

My only explanation is because life isn't fair and people have their own reasons.

Sometimes I admit that I can't help wondering if some people spend their lives living in a broom cupboard.

My experience as a domina is that a large majority of submissive men want; and they want, and they want, and they want.  And they want it all for free.  And by free, I mean not spending a penny.  Not even taking you out for dinner, yet they expect you to have an apartment that is equipped like a dungeon, a fetish wardrobe that has the selection of Madame S, and to be available whenever they are in the mood for instant domination.

Then they come to the boards to whine about how they can't get it for free.  How they are expected to show up for a date, rather than immediate playtime, and how they are expected to provide *something*: either their time or their money.  Because, you know, it's just all so unfair.  Why shouldn't they get what they want when they want it?  What is all this rubbish about having to please the domina in order to get what they want? 

Believe me, the subs that give of themselves really stand out, and they aren't the ones on the boards complaining about why some women charge for their time.

*laughs* Thank you so much for saying this MstrTiger. I'm not even directly involved in that whole dynamic and it seems just about that obvious to me. You know, money is neat. You can buy stuff with it. It's pretty much the other person's choice whether they feel like paying or not -- both paths lead to different but viable outcomes. So what's the big deal?

To be fair, I think a lot of them are total newbies, just being to look for what they have only dared dream of and been ashamed of the dreams they have. Sub frenzy seems to take away what little common sense people have.

But I don't think they are slaves. You have to have some experience with a power relationship to know what being a slave is or isn't, and newbies don't usually dream of being commanded to fetch a chicken salad sandwich. Like the rest of us, they dream about bottoming.

Surrendering money can be one of the most difficult and selfless sacrifices a slave/submisisve can decide to make. As a pissed off outsider looking in, if the slave's level of devotion extends that deeply, you don't have to like it, you just have to learn to live with it without it threatening you or making you feel helpless. You can not change other people's behavior, you can only change yours. Quit thinking about it or you'll give it more power than you intended.

The big deal of course isn't money but plain old jiggy jiggy - they're not getting any jiggy jiggy apart from what Madame Five Fingers provides. They can't get any through being who they are, and they either can't afford to pay (the wife controls the money) or they're too tight-fisted.

There are a lot of extremely repetative posts, and most of them honestly think they are the FIRST ones to bring up the point. There is no answer to be gained, and sometimes it is put up as a challenge. The dominants that do not ask are supposed to step up to defend their "honor" and announce themselves to redeem our gender in the eyes of the poster. A little passive aggressive for my tastes.
