Is it just me or does anyone else wonder why there is so little mention of the importance of good old fashioned FUN in D/s style relationships and BDSM generally? So many people seem to take it all so seriously, which is sometimes necessary of course, but who wants to be in ANY relationship where there is no fun, laughter, humour, frivolity and sometimes plain good old fashioned silliness? Btw it's always seemed to me the best (and most secure) Dominants have a terrific sense of humour! Do too many of us take ourselves too seriously? Any thoughts? Or perhaps you could tell us what's the most fun you ever had in BDSM! Thanks.

Go fun yourself. I was watching a movie on regular tv and instead of go fuck yourself, the censors had a great sense of humor and had joe pesci say go fun yourself. One of the top five television moments of all time. I do agree with the initial spirit of the post. I'm not exactly the most serious person all the time (no, really, I'm not) so whomever I wind up with needs to be able to laugh, even at themselves. Probably especially at themselves. To me it's part of the whole package that I'm looking for and the whole package that I'd like my life to be.

I believe most of us still remember this "fun" thing of which you speak. Actually, I think many of us enjoy the byplay here on these boards. Don't worry if most threads seem dark and sarcastic. Trust me, these guys are having a blast. As far as actual involvement in the lifestyle, well, when it stops being fun, I'll quit doing it.

[/quote ] REPLY: Everyone I know in my community is fun..has humour..laughs it up..is silly..plays jokes on ppl..love word plays..see the silliness of self..are spontaneous and there is a lot of mention of it..on here..?? check out Humour...Holly and Potty..Bountys Coffee Shop and many other threads.. where great fun is had by all.... There is a lot of seriousness IF a serious question is asked here..if it is out in the community then..is it a munch that is too serious? a workshop? or BDSM ppl in general? that YOU meet.. .. The most fun I had was at a KINKY Campout near my city( Edmonton AB CA) last summer....hilarious ....... a riot GQ

One time I was being seriously pounded after a particularly humiliating session and somehow Master and I wound up taking turns making up silly limericks to each other to the rhythm of each thrust. (Think "There was a young man from Nantucket.") That was fun.

FR, after read thru My experience of my local munch community is that they're a pretty witty bunch of people; so too the many people I've encountered at play parties & classes, above & beyond that I find BDSM play parties & classes to be fun in & of themselves, along with being educational, entertaining, & otherwise edifying . .. . . . Here in General, or in Master, Mistress, & the other more 'on topic' portions of these message boards, I think many people reasonably feel a certain obligation to be serious, but, as those above pointed out, there's silliness & outright fun to be had in Humor, & in Polls & Random Stupidity . . . . . Even profiles & journal entries don't have to be serious -- I make it a point to make my profile enjoyable & informative for the many many many people who cruise it but are never gonna be 'potential mate material' . . . . .

Humour is essential for me in every aspect of life, it brought me through the hard times and it gave wings in the good times. I have had no serious relationship (including all sex/sm or not) with somebody who is not like me humoristically inclined. Zero Tolerance for fun challenged people in my world. The mixture of relaxing good sex and pure silliness is beautiful.

As for something funny?....Yes i think i can accommodate you. Master/Daddy and i had a "play date" (for lack of a better term) tonight. As has been said, the forums do have quite a bit of fun. At least I think, and in a multitude of ways. On the otherhand, with a sexual nature incorporated, sometimes being the wise guy isn't the best thing. Examples: The man yells "Charge" while entering his partner from the top. THIS WILL KILL THE MOOD, trust me. Having sex on a folding chair with the girls back on the seat- THE CHAIR WILL FOLD AT AN INOPPORTUNE TIME, trust me. (Again, hilarious, but will kill the mood) You are trying to take off your clothes all sexy, but when you reach your pants...you trip and fall. Funny, but again- kills the mood. See what I mean?

Joseph actually beat Me to it. When it stops being fun, I'm not doing it anymore. With that said, are you asking about the forums here or the activities involved in wiitwd? Either way, I'll try to make some sense of an answer. On the forums, yes, you will see Me be rather serious about certain topics. Protocol in particular, if you're interested. I try to take those kinds of things seriously because people do tend to want to know honest answers to their questions. Other times, I'm just having fun. My sense of humor doesn't always come off the way it should, but I'm kind of twisted like that. Sometimes people get Me and sometimes they don't. If I'm chuckling on this end, I usually don't care. Now, if you're talking about the real life thing, I'll tell you My philosophy. Every now and again, certain people will get irritated with Me because I call it "play." I call it that because it's supposed to be fun and I'm wanting to have a good time doing it. That includes the laughs.

I don't talk about humor too much. I believe very strongly in the force personified in Eris, Loki, and Old Man Coyote, and have found that if I write a straight scene or ritual any humorous elements will be inserted to the degree that They think proper, and I will acknowledge it appropriately when it happens. that said, there's nothing that kills a really lovely fuck like having a cat walk into the room, be annoyed that you are fucking on the bed when Her Royal Highness wishes to sleep on it, and take a large stinking dump in the center of the bedroom floor to indicate her opinion of the whole thing. We call that cat's solid emissions Toxic Waste Dumps for a reason, is all I'm sayin'....

[;)][;)][;)] To the OP- there is plenty off silliness and fun around these parts, it's just that much of it happens down in the belly of CM (otherwise known as the Polls and Random Stupidity forum). Things tend to be more serious "above ground" in the General, Master, Switch, and Sub forums. The Mistress forum, however, usually has at least one or 2 threads going that are guaranteed to make ya giggle. As for the most fun time I've had in this community, it has to be Steelbilation 2008. Ours knows better than that, she will, however, just wander up and get RIGHT up in our face and mewl sometimes, or lay on the bottom person's head, or the top person's back, or something like that. The laughter, yes, will certainly interfere with normal proceedings. ;)

As for fun-I have loads of fun, and I'm planning to have even more fun this weekend. :).
