I do not talk about having fun, but i also do not talk about breathing. To me, there is no reason to discuss the obvious. [:)][:)][:)][:)][:)]

Eh? Me? I never make trouble. I'm really really really ever so nice, I am :).

the very first time i was with Daddy...he sang to me the swedish chef's song from the muppet show.  i think that really set the tone of our time together.  funny and silly and serious and it was all good.

i have a habit of finding the silliest jokes i can and telling them to TheEngineer right as he's trying to fall asleep.  why?  cause its funny to hear him try to laugh with the cpap face mask and hose on.  [:D]

naughty kitten...sometimes.  [;)]

Humor doesn't translate well to the written word. Besides what can we say "We went miniature golfing and had a great time, laughing whenever the ball went into the water trap"? There isn't anything there to spark a conversation.

Occasionally someone starts a bloopers thread but besides that, it isn't easily communicated.

Is it just me or does anyone else wonder why there is so little mention of the importance of good old fashioned FUN in D/s style relationships and BDSM generally?

So many people seem to take it all so seriously, which is sometimes necessary of course, but who wants to be in ANY relationship where there is no fun, laughter, humour, frivolity and sometimes plain good old fashioned silliness?

Btw it's always seemed to me the best (and most secure) Dominants have a terrific sense of humour!

Do too many of us take ourselves too seriously?  Any thoughts? Or perhaps you could tell us what's the most fun you ever had in BDSM!

Thanks.

I don't know about your community but in my weird little happy place, there is fun in abundance.

I believe in living with joy. I laugh often. I look for reasons to smile. Reasons to joke and be silly. Good gawd, life is too short to walk around all glum and serious. I am going to try very hard to enjoy every second possible.

RedMagic1 -> RE: Why is there so little of the F word in this community? - FUN! (5/22/2009 7:34:10 AM)

If a True dominant smiled or cracked a joke, it would cheapen his exalted status, as True dominants are revered by all others in the BDSM scene.  Switches are allowed to grin, but only submissives are allowed to giggle uncontrollably -- and never at their doms, of course.

Really? I've felt the opposite more times than not.

I know I'm all for taking it seriously. That doesn't mean you can't have fun at the same time, though.

LaTigresse -> RE: Why is there so little of the F word in this community? - FUN! (5/22/2009 8:17:43 AM)

Yanno Marc, I think I would faint dead away if I ever saw you make a silly, giggle inducing, post. Although, there was one I read about keeping Cheez-its in the fridge that took me aback. You totally ruined my image of you, picturing you eating Cheez-its. Please tell me it's not directly out of the box!!![:D]

Now, don't get me wrong, I do enjoy your posts. They almost always cause me to "Hmmmm, never thought about it that way." or "Damn, I wish I had said that!" Just that Cheez-its made me do a double take.

Heart I think you rock too.

Love the new photo btw.
If you were not straight and anywhere even resembling close to the farm, you would be having soooooooooo much fun![:D]

There have been lots of posts about fun stuff in the past, not so much lately, but I can attest to the fact that discussions about bdsm kink and D/s is not all doom and gloom and seriousness.

i'm not a slapstick sort of person.....
i would be a stand-up comedienne if only i could stand up for long enough....
i keep defaulting to the kneeling position....
seriously though a sense of humour is terribly important.

Because to be weal and twue one MUST be serious.

Tell that to any top who's ever caught a case of giggle space.

FUN is how we met.

He was convinced that the slave He had envisioned for so many decades didn't exist...so He merely went in search of FUN.

this slave was convinced, after decades of vanilla based relationships that she was not relationship material...so she merely went in search of FUN.

we found each other.

OMFG...do we have FUN.[:)]

e.g.:  Steel's Thread

kiwisub12 -> RE: Why is there so little of the F word in this community? - FUN! (5/22/2009 4:48:18 PM)

I don't understand how the OP can say that cm isn't about fun. Some of the funniest threads are in the general BDSM discussion section. Maybe they are meant to be serious, but if you have a sense of ridiculous (as I do) then giggles will abound!

I especially enjoy the threads from idiots that deteriorate into farce.

As for real time my Sir and i can giggle over saying "i love you". As in most of life, a good sense of ridiculous makes living with someone easier. Just because the humour isn't overt, doesn't mean it isn't present.

I think the OP is hanging out on the wrong people. [:D]
