I've been here for a while and every interaction I've had with the moderators or observed as an outside party has impressed me at their forebearance.

I've also noticed that the vast majority of the complaining about the moderators' actions have come from people who I've noticed were behaving badly prior to their "discovery" that the big bad moderators are "unfair."

However, the bottom line is that CollarMe is a free service. The best means of protest is for those unhappy with the service to leave the site and so deprive all of us of their insightful commentary and biting repartee.

Interesting that, I've noticed in other threads when the Mods were questioned, the postyer was requested to discuss all matters regarding Moderators to Mod 1 who I find to be a more than reasonable person.

SubjectProperty

Ive been here since the beginning.
I warned the Moderator One in the beginning that I would be most probably Their largest handful.
I have been warned, threatened, had My words removed, changed, moderated, removed.
Ive been banned for a day, a week, a month, three months on numours occations.
Ive had My profile rejected, changed, moderated, removed.
Ive had My Input and Opinions and Choice to be who I am here openly on a site that is suppose
to be for and created for those llike Me who are alternate lifestylers and non conformists
against the majority Moderated.
I have donated to the site with My insite, time, experiance, kinks, perversions, money,Dominance,
and all around meaness at times.

The Moderators here are like a computer. They can only put out whats put into them. The Moderators
are given their chores and rules to abide by and it is their definition by which these are carried out.
Neither of Us are expected to change who We are nor change Our feelings about any given subject.
The Moderators here do a grand job! In fact I will go assofar in saying They do the best Job Ive seen
in many a sites such as this one. And they do their job in a way that still gives those of Us who are
even on the outskirts and fringes of the mainstorm here leaway to be who We are and still regulate
to the betterment of the whole. I fight against the wheel basically on principles with out singling
out any one moderator or person. They in return equally moderate Me in the ways that they feel
best feed their accomplishments as a moderator. Tit for Tat....... I can say with all honesty
I have come to enjoy My Moderations here and delite in pravoking each to watch how as new
Moderators are added how they will act and react to My Retched Wicked lil ways of tempts against
the norm. THANKYOU MODERATORS FOR BEING ALL THAT YOU CAN BE IN THIS LIL COLLARME WORLD!
Make note SubjectProperty of the name of this site and in reading such think about those who have
been put in charge what they think in thier minds as to how they are suppose to act in a place which
holds the name " Collar Me " What act do you think anyone put in charge would tempt to do here ?? LOL

IMO, complaining to the moderators about the moderators is an exercise in futility. Mind you, I haven't really had any issues withe the moderators myself as I tend to stay within the site guidelines for the most part. I don't agree with the guidelines 100% but then it's not my site either.

I think part of the problem, if it can be called that, is that moderators are granted anonymity by having handles such as ModOne, Mod Two, etc. I think that has the potential for abuse if one is so inclined (and I have not seen any evidence that any of the current mods are so inclined). On another site I visit the moderators do not get a cloak of anonymity. They simply have their usual username and under their posts in the forums is says "Moderator." Because they have to moderate as themselves and not as some anonymous arbiter of all things right and good I think it forces them to be more fair and even handed. JMHO, of course.

My own contact with Moderator One has met with no response...twice, but quite a few emails sent to the site are ignored too. Unfortunately, everyone is not able to have all positive experiences. I took the non response as my questions weren't a concern to the site, and that it could be brushed off/ignored. I didn't pursue it, as I just figured she didn't have the time, and probably had more important issues of concern.

Recently, I found a more than objectionable photo posted with a profile. I sent a note, and the photo was rightly removed within 48 hours. I was pleased with that action, and the prompt response.

Sometimes it works...sometimes it doesn't. It's not a full proof system. Moderation IS a thankless job, but after reading through other threads this morning, my guess is the OP is just stirring the pot on this site, for some reason. Pot's fine with me.

Web forums are NOT democracies. At best they are benevolent dictatorships.

Accept it. You don't like the dictatorship, leave the forum. They are as gods.

Didn't the OP have a bit of a 'run in' with one of the mods yesterday? (not mentioning any numbers!)

Personally, I have been v impressed with the mods, this site, and how it is run.

Thank you v much for the time, effort, and money it takes to create and maintain a site like this!

Like others have said...eh, if you don't like it...move on...there are plenty of other sites which may suit you more. (or not)

You harbor a false believe then. I have been a member for years but rarely ever posted though often read other peoples posts and seen the responses from the malevolent people. I date back to 2002.

According to THIS profile that you have now set up, you have only been a member since Nov. 2005.

In order to view his profile, you have to type it in and do a search.

If you do a profile search on "SubjectProperty", his profile comes up listing that he lives in Atlanta.

If you do a search on "OwnedProperty", his profile comes up listing he lives in the UK.

If you look at both profiles otherwise, clearly, they are the same person. Both profiles even list the same references.

I'll also point out that when "OwnedProperty" contacted me directly on 12/10/05, his profile claimed he lived in DC. Shortly after being turned down, his profile updated to the UK address.

The Mods remind me of Catholic nuns during recess. I have a small crush on Moderator 11, and under Sec. 33(a)(ii)(41) of the TOS, that's listed as a punishable sin. Now my fingers tingle and burn when I post, my eyes water while reading threads, and I'm having message board nightmares of all other posters hating me and trying to drive me off the boards.

One can always hope!

Just my small experience with the Mods, I read a post where someone else was being quite nastily attacked, and I didn't think it was called for and certainly not appropriate. I reported the post, and within 2 days my report was reviewed, appropriate action was taken and I was responded to. I'm quite happy with our Mods!

Well, I'd say the moderators must be ok. Since The OP had words with one of them. If they were hell-bent on confirmity. They would have surely deleted his account. As long as you can have a disagreement with the mods, and they don't delete you, then they are doing a fair job. Generally speaking, once they get into the mindset, that if you question their authority, and they delete you. Well, then this site will suck, and wither away.

Thanks.

First off I want to thank everyone for their support in this thread *pauses for applause*

The moderators on this site, as most of you already know are all volunteers as are the people who answer support messages, profile reviewers, photo reviewers, report reviewers etc. They are regularly getting feedback from myself and other moderators and as I have stated on previous occasions, the decisions to moderate or ban posters is almost always a decision that is discussed amongst the moderators and decided. The same is usually true for pulling threads as well. I do not have enough hours in the day to devote to all parts of the site that I am involved in but I do read all my messages, I do speak with the other moderators on an almost daily basis and if someone has a complaint about something I almost always investigate it. What type or if any disciplinary action is taken if a moderator or anyone else does anything wrong is no one else's business. The same way it is no one else's business if a user receives a warning or anything else. If someone has a complaint about a moderator they can always send me a note about it (preferably with links and exact quotes so I don't have to spend hours digging around). I understand that not everyone will always agree with our decisions and we do make mistakes on occasion. We all try and be as fair and impartial as possible to make the forums an enjoyable place to exchange thoughts and ideas amongst members of the BDSM community.

I've been on this site since 2002 I think (my profile might not reflect that, it's been acidentally deleted a couple times) and on the forums since 2003 (or thereabouts). So I've done my share of reading.

There are a few moderators here I disagree with quite often, in that I think threads are closed/moved when they don't always need to be, or that some kinds of conversation are allowed to go on longer than they should.

That said, I've felt this wayabout maybe.....50 threads? In 3 years? Not a bad track record, Mods :)

Too, Moderators are almost universally willing to give you back the text of your posts, and occationally reconsider locked/moved threads depending on feedback.

Too, as LA said, this isn't a democracy, nor is it a true public forum. As such, the Mods have the right (even legally) to do whatever they want. I admire their restraint.
