Once again I state that homosexuals have the same rights as heterosexuals, not separate but equal, just plain equal.

A homosexual male can marry the same female as a heterosexual one can, and vice versa for lesbian women marrying men.

What homosexuals really want is the true definition of "seperate but equal".

What a jackass. It's people like you that piss people like me off so much.

Ahhh sooo tolerant aren't you DG36

Why the HELL should I be tolerant of such outright ignorance? Sorry, not happening. I have no tolerance for that kind of crap and I never will. Tolerance of such crap is akin to saying it's acceptable, and people won't stop it until they know it's NOT acceptable.

FR reply here...

quote:

10,000 years of human history back up marriage between a man and a woman.

Even in times when homosexuality flourished,  there was never, ever any concept of
homosexual marriage.

never say NEVER...do nto mistake opinion as FACT

IN 1576 Pedro de Gandova reports in
Sexual Diversity of Indian Culture  that some Amazonian Amazon women each have a woman to serve them ( as they were warriors);
to whom she is MARRIED..They  maintain a heterogender ( his term)relationship..If the marriage terminated..they could marry a man without any trouble.

Among Alaskan ppls..such as the KaSAK if there were no sons a daughter couLD be designated as a son.. and marry
and it was/is accepted...
We have the berduce of North America who were in long lasting relationships
We also have thee unique Sarmation ENEREES..Pristesses who were men..and had male wives...
There is also a group in ALBANIA TODAY..
who take on all traits of men in order to survive harsh conditions..they take wives as well.. and unlike men they CANNOT be killed.

I have researched archeomythology for 16 years and would love to go on and on and I might tomorrow but in the meantime anyone who wants to message ..I can give you scads of wonderful book refs and images to SUPPORT the fact that homosexual union was supported through out history
and HOMOPHOBIA finds its roots in the domestication of animals  yes..
to make a long story shrot..
once setteled and observing studs and herds and managing breeding the  herd.."man" became "like the stud" and wanted no alternate behavioirs others than for reproduction...increasaing his "herd.."
also
and  about marriage as a sacred institution
BULLSHIT...
it is bondage to insure paternity...and control women sexuall and has been around for about 500 years as we know it today in its modfied and insideous form

NOW AS FOR a UNION...yes!!!
TWO BELOVEDS SHOULD HAVE THE  RIGHT to be
unified as ONE..legally...........

And who gets to dictate to the masses what IS and IS NOT acceptable, Drea?  You?  Based on what, exactly?

i am not disagreeing with you when you say that gays have been persecuted throughout history... i just think your idea that they win the gold medal in being persecuted is false... hows this, go ask a black gay man in which way he has been judged the harshest... or as an Arab if they think gays have it tougher in the USA than they do.  I would say myself that going just on today, Arabs have it tougher, and in recent history, both black and Jews have had it worse.  Personally, I do not understand why you (and I) are arguing over who has it worse, since the only prize when you win is a shittier life.

Oh really? Let's see, a straight Arab in the United States might get called names and mistaken for a terrorist. A gay Arab in Iran is EXECUTED.

I think being gay offers far harsher torment than being Arab (or any other "race" for that matter). Only the Jews during World War II has it worse.

Discrimination is unacceptable. Bigotry is unacceptable. I would never let anyone dare tell me I'm wrong for standing by the fact that this should be THE standard. Yeah, maybe I should be the one to dictate it, at least everyone would be equal. That sure as HELL beats the alternative.

tazzygirl -> RE: Prop 8 ruling makes me wanna kill people... (5/27/2009 10:22:23 PM)

oh really.  i dont suppose being forced to live in confined areas, your women and children raped and killed before your eyes, hung simply for the race you belong too and no other reason.. sure, that wasnt any worse, now was it

Discrimination is unacceptable.

What a load of pc crap.  I discriminate all the time, and so does everyone else.  The question is what basis we use.  High on my list is whether a person is an asshole or not.  Other things that people go by are whether they like the kind of food a restaraunt serves, whether they like the odds that a car company will be around to honor a warranty, whether the non-passable TV on the bus smells bad.

Discrimination is nothing more than making a choice.  If you aspire to be dictator to the rest of us, you might want to brush up on things like that.

nelly33 -> RE: Prop 8 ruling makes me wanna kill people... (5/27/2009 10:34:14 PM)

drea, ur all over the place here... you cannot compare other cultures to the united states...because women are also killed in some countries for being raped... so yes, gays in some other countries have it worse than blacks here... but if you really want to get into other cultures... how about those being killed because of their ethnicity in darfur, or the genocide of the kurds, the gays had it worse than them?? Just because the Holocaust is the most well known genocide does not mean it is the only one... and since you are on your high horse... slavery wasn't as bad as prop 8?  you just sound silly

The discrimination is spreading. The country is moving toward the conservative, not the liberal. Far more of the country is anti-gay than pro-gay, and it gets worse every election cycle. We have had, what, six victories to over thirty defeats in the states? That and a previously pro-gay state has now gone the opposite direction. If this doesn't alarm you, I don't know what else to tell you. It has me in "emergency" mode, though, because I see a plague spreading at the word of the Bible.

nelly33 -> RE: Prop 8 ruling makes me wanna kill people... (5/27/2009 10:48:00 PM)

umm... congress and the president are both democrat, and the latter is black... seems to be not to conservative to me... and conservative is a political party, not a boogy man to run away from... your point of view and opening post of "any means nessesary" is much scarier to think about than the patriot act, which at least didn't kill American citizens with opposing points of view.

When an opposing point of view goes from being verbal opposition to law, it ceases being a mere opinion and becomes factual oppression. To wit, innocent people are suffering. I despise that suffering, and yes, I would do ANYTHING to see it come to an end. If that scares you more than the spread of said oppression, that shows you have a lack of understanding of the situation at hand.

nelly33 -> RE: Prop 8 ruling makes me wanna kill people... (5/27/2009 11:04:37 PM)

ummm... you're out of touch with reality.  if you really would do anything to fight this horrible unspeakable oppression, then why haven't you done it already.  A lack of understanding is basically saying you'd kill somebody because they disagree with you.  A much easier solution would be moving to Canada, no need for the death.  Stop talking about things you'll never do, like taking up arms, because if you were serious you wouldn't be spouting off on the internet.  Drop the act, and if you want to have an intelligent conversation, leave out the stupid melodramatics.

tazzygirl -> RE: Prop 8 ruling makes me wanna kill people... (5/27/2009 11:04:59 PM)

every law passed can be considered factual oppression to someone

*rolls eyes*

Are you dense? You seem to completely miss the point.

Allowing gays to marry wouldn't oppress anyone, including the religious right who claim falsely that it would.

nelly33 -> RE: Prop 8 ruling makes me wanna kill people... (5/27/2009 11:11:47 PM)

alrite, speak to me like I'm a four year old... what's your point.... cause i know i'm not the only one missing it... if there is on...
also, i'm glad you can speak for the religious right

problem is, you are preaching to the choir.  i have no issues with gay marriages.  none at all.  i just dont forsee it happening in the near future, becoming a national right.

if that offends you, im sorry.  its my opinion.  you can rant and rave, make all the threats you wish, and it wont change things.

The point is that the "nice" way hasn't worked, so I'm suggesting a "not so nice" way.

Also, allowing gay marriage would have ZERO effect on the religious right. They can claim whatever they want, but facts are facts.

Um, the very fact you state is the REASON I'm so pissed off. BECAUSE it won't happen anytime in the near future, even in my entire lifetime. So yeah, I'm pissed off at the opression, and I'm saying we're being too nice when dealing with bigots.
