Nothing, it is a rather tired phrase without meaning

A submissive individual who is true to hirself and honest about the way that xhe lives, at least to those who are intimately involved with hir.

Someone who can polish off a bottle of vodka, two litres of fruit juice, two bottles of wine, a large doner kebab, and still walk in a straight line whilst simultaneously talking and texting on a cellphone.

Ok half a bottle a medium doner while just talking on the phone, looks like I have some work to do

Uh... a woman who submits? I suppose specific to me it'd be... "A woman who submits in a way that I find appealing." Mostly I think it doesn't mean anything.

krikket -> RE: a question... (5/30/2009 4:23:09 PM)

As usual you've hit the nail right on top of its pointy little head..lol.  i've learned enough over the years that when someone accuses me of not being a true submissive i usually point out that my submissive side come out only when i meet a "true dom".  The look on their face is almost priceless..lol.

Whenever I see that term, it puts me on alert.  I have never seen it used except as a manipulative tool to get an inexperienced sub to think that she has to do something she doesn't want to.
i agree with Steven (shup, Stevie...it was bound to happen eventually)

Many of us have been called players, phonies, and told we are not weal twue subs because our thought/limits differ from those of a dom

I haven't had a doner in what seems like a million years. Now I want one...thanks alot - not a chance in hell I'll ever find one in the US.

If this is the definition of a true sub I'll have to be content with the fact that I'll never be one...sigh.

BKSir -> RE: a question... (5/30/2009 4:32:00 PM)

I would have to say that a "true sub", at least to me, would be someone who is on the opposite end of the spectrum as a "control freak".  Someone with the psychological and emotional need to be controlled, and someone who is happy in their role as submitting to someone else, no matter what that role may entail.

It also goes along with my theory that there is no such thing as a bad sub or master, just a bad sub or master for YOU.  My pet may be a horrible pet for someone else, but I can't think of anyone I would rather have, or any more perfect pet in the world for me.

Right on, DarkSteven.  ~hugs~  i think "true" anything is dangerous territory.  Saying A/anyone is a true anything is, well, how can one say that?  True according to W/who?  Like You, i think it's a manipulative tool...but i would go so far as to say no matter which side of the kneel O/one is on.

Perfect.  What He said.

DavanKael -> RE: a question... (5/30/2009 8:05:13 PM)

After being on CM awhile, the term 'true submissive' sets my eyes to rolling as there's no one set designation of perfection for a submissive just what works for a person within themselves and within their relationships.

~~Fast Reply~~
To many people I am not a ‘true’ submissive simply because A) I don’t meet their criteria/expectations, and/or B) I am not capable or willing to offer INSTA-submission.
The truth of my submission can only be determined by the dominants in my life.  Anyone else’s opinion matters not.
