Not much to jump up and down for joy about. Other than all the fantastic weather we've been having. For once, we've had a real spring and have been able to have windows open. Too often we go from running the furnace to running the AC with no non humid nice weather inbetween. This spring has been fabulous. The farm looks absolutely gorgeous this time of year. The flower beds are colourful, the grass and trees are stunning shades of green. The horses have lost their winter coats and are fat and glossy from all that spring grass. I had my spring fill of morels, god I love those things! Unfortunately I picked up a few passengers while out hunting for them. Either that or while I was out in the big pasture re-doing fencing. Regardless of where they came from, they gave me this delightful little Lyme germ. Went to the doctor and going through a battery of tests to be certain that is what it is (early on it is a difficult diagnosis) Still too much joint pain, fatigue and brain-lockup.......but I am confident it will pass. Have been riding and working horses when I can. The joint issues and exhaustion have given them an easy spring so far. I am in the middle of making a big batch of strawberry preserves. Love the strawberries!! Haven't the time, and more importantly, energy and patience to deal with needy new potential slaves right now. That is just kind of on the back burner unless a really stellar young woman/men appears. The two girls that were supposed to be coming again, have screwed around on schedule and timing so much, that I have just lost interest. If they show up, I will try to work them into my schedule. If not, I will not be heartbroken. Maybe even relieved, if I don't start feeling better soon.
