ORIGINAL: Politesub53 Any excuse to knock Obama eh Sanity ? [:D] If the Obama apologists think they are going to play their 'attack the messenger' game for the entire next three and a half years they're going to have a long row to hoe, because the shine is already off the corrupt, young, and inexperienced Jr. Senator. Add to that, Obama's not very bright, either. As an example of what I mean, he's got a very young person, just 31 years young and totally inexperienced in the world of automobile manufacturing, dismantling one of the nation's biggest and best employers (GM) and sending many of its workers home with the president's condolences. http://www.nytimes.com/2009/06/01/business/01deese.html Lovely, huh? quote:
ORIGINAL: Politesub53GM have decided to sell of an unprofitable vehicle ( From your own link ) Something they have a right to do in a free world wide market. Somehow it is Obama`s fault Obama took the reigns, so whatever happens IS his fault. He fired GM's CEO, he's dictating orders, and so the plant closings are his. The selling off to China is his. Obama also stopped Bush's offshore drilling plans, and so speculation is driving the price of oil back up, in case you haven't noticed. Further harming the economy as a whole, and autoworkers in particular. quote:
ORIGINAL: Politesub53 You would have posted the same nonsense if Obama had bailed GM out. Can you tell me how GM could survive, without either a bailout, or selling parts of the company ? Nonsense? The nonsense here isn't mine - it's yours and Obama's. This should have been handled with a bankruptcy, then restructuring - the way its always been done in the past. That way the unions (which are at fault here probably more than Obama himself) would have been put in their place, instead of the bondholders and the shareholders getting absolutely reamed like this. There is no need for a little dictator at the helm at all, no need to sell off what could be a profitable division to China. This entire affair, the way our little king is handling this is totally unconstitutional, and it's appalling that Congress (and even GM) is going along with it. Obama only wants his dirty little fingers in this because he has his socialist agenda to meet, just like his supporters do, and a lot of average people are going to go through an immense amount of pain that they wouldn't have if Obama weren't bringing his far left anti capitalism policies to fruition. quote:
ORIGINAL: Politesub53 Would you rather that Hummer wasnt brought out, and that those workers were made redundant ? I'd rather Obama and his Democratic comrades in Congress hadn't worked so hard to stop oil drilling and to destroy Fannie and Freddie, and done everything else they did to destroy the economy so that GM would still be profitable today! Obama's comments about 'spreading the wealth' and his going to war against the 'rich' (and therefore business) sparked this recession as much as or more than anything else has. Today's economy is more a crisis of confidence than anything, and why has business and Wall Street lost confidence? Two words - Barack Obama.
