I'm only 5'0", and I'll admit that I'm initially more attracted to taller men (say, 5'10" or above). And I agree with what some others have mentioned; that is, a guy who is tall seems more protective because of his size.

If I were to meet someone who is 5'4" but has a very dominant personality, the height preference would probably become a moot issue, up to a point. However, with that said, in all honesty, if I were to meet a dominant man who was a few inches shorter than me (under 5'0")? I'm not quite so sure I could overlook it (pardon the pun).

I do not know, if it is shallow, but i have noticed that most women want a man taller then them. As i said before, maybe it is partly biologically ingrained. Taller can fight better and defend you and the children if necessary....

Zen, as someone pointed out, I am 6'2, have a deep voice, and my physical presence is one that puts caution into others. That said, I will not hesitate to face off against a guy my size, however, I absolutely give pause to "short guys" and think before I engage them. Some of them little fuckers are mean, they don't quit, they don't back down, and they will hurt you. I bet if IronBear posts, he will back me up on that.

I might get confronted less but do not for a second think a "short guy" is in any way less able to protect you. You might FEEL safer but the reality has to be judged on a case by case basis.

One of the most studly things I have EVER witnessed was years ago in a movie theater. A bunch of jocks were teasing these two girls in front of a buddy and I. Finally, the one with the long dark hair stood up and turned around and it was a short petite guy who had the wirey look. As cool as ice he simply said "would any or all of you care to step outside and discuss this"

Silence, total silence. Three jocks vs one girl sized guy and THEY backed down. Bet he got some that night and they probably couldn't get it up for a month.

Height doesn't matter to me either way you're either confident in who and what you are or you're not.I'm 5'10 and 1/2 and growing up a lot of guys were intimidated by that,add to that I wore high heels as soon as my parents let me so unless I was barefoot I was usually around 6'3 to 6'4 in my heels I would even have guys tell me the only way they would go out with me is if I wore flats NOT.But the ones that it didn't would tell me how much they loved the view from where they were standing.

I am with Michael on the danger of short guys---some ladies were talking about takedown scenes, and my petite pal was teasing a short, wiry top. No WAY would I have gotten into it with him, he could have taken both of us down at once with speed and strength!

Like others on here I am initially attracted to men taller than I am. For some reason, a taller man gives me that little quiver in the belly, that weakness in the knees.

I stand 5’7” barefoot-- on the taller side-- and when I have my hooker heels on (I love that phrase!) I’m sometimes at least 5’10-5’11. I think the fact that I am taller and plus size has something to do with it. I want someone that I feel comfortable with.

I’ve been with men well over 6 feet tall and men roughly my height. I just feel more feminine with a taller, larger man.

Am I shallow? I hope not. But maybe. I like what I like. I respond to some things more than others.

I hope that I am mature enough to see more than the package, though.

I like the fact that I'm still taller when HE is wearing the hooker heels.

How can you help but feel powerful and in control when your slave boy maid is in 4 inch heels and you are in flats or barefoot and you can still look down at him? I'm sure the reverse is true with him feeling more submissive this way. Of course when he is down on all fours it matters less but I prefer a lapdog over a big breed.

I am 5'3", perhaps an inch taller than my Lady. Ever other man she has dated has been close to 6' or above. But it doesn't matter. She says that I'm just "concentrated" and loves that I'm small enough to fit on her lap. She's happy and so am I. :)

Hmmm, just had an insight that perhaps my height is one of the reasons I am attracted to D/s. I will have to ponder that possibility!

Not to me. I see both as simply preferences, part of that thing we call "chemistry" when speaking of what attracts people to each other.
The only time I have an issue is when said preferences are expressed in insulting ways, which is (IME) far more common in any fat thread posted than in any height thread. Funny, that.

i have the same experience than you. My husband is 1,70 m and i once asked his brother who is more than a head taller than him and weighs around 30 kilograms more, why M. won every fight they had. S. said because he is meaner than me.

I know that M. was a very dangerous fighter in his younger days and even today people do not cross him lightly, although he will normally no longer engage in fights. He is not the first shorter men that i met, who is like that.

I referred to a kind of biological reflex and i am sure that you have understood me before.

It's still just one factor, ZenDragoness. My whole family is tall (at 5'9", I am the shortest one), but my 6'2" sister married a guy 5'7", and my 6'8" brother married a gal who is 5'2" in heels.
My preference may be for a guy who is taller than me, but the Dom who has captured and kept my attention for quite awhile now is my height, and it doesn't matter to me at all (in fact, the whole being taller than him when wearing "bitch boots" while knowing what will happen when they come off is definitely hot). To me, preferences are a sort of "wish list" that you come up with when picturing the person you think will suit you best. IME, said list tends to go out the window when you meet someone you really click with, lol.

i prefer my men taller. it has always been this way and i've dated them above and under six feet. i prefer them over that mark and that is generally what i'm attracted to. i like the variance, looking up into his eyes, and feeling physically like his little girl. this isn't to say that shorter men can't bring about the Daddy like vibes, but i probably wouldn't equate that to him at first glance.

Hi Heavan's Keeper,

With my Dom partner, I find that much of my attraction to him as a Dominant lies with his height and physical prowess. He is 6'4 and a powerlifter....which almost make me feel like a child next to him sometimes!

Conversely, since I myself am short, I've had times where I REALLY wished I could grow another 4 inches or so instead of relying on those darn platform shoes all the time. A lilliputian Domme...lol.
