"Massage for Dummies" is a good basic book. If you're feeling really ambitious, see if your local community college offers massage therapy and take a course or two.

While you're learning with your hands you can use balls so long as you've got something stiff to keep hold of. This is an alternative method.

Do you mean other than massage?

Depending on her tastes: Learn how to taste, judge, pick out wines and properly serve them. Learn how to make her favorite cocktail. Learn about aromatherapy to go with that massage. Learn to make her favorite food, appetizer, or munchie. Learn to give a pedicure. Brush her hair.

Those things at the end of your arms....those are "hands" (you may have signed things with them in the past....they wiggle a bit....often used for TV clickers....getting milk from the fridge....hands....just slightly below your wristwatch).

Those are called fingers.

You can practice on your own feet and legs before trying to massage her - not as good as having someone else do it, and the angle's a little different, but you'll get some immediate feedback on how hard you're going, what kinds of touch feel good, etc. Of course, be open to feedback from her, and I agree that DVD's can be helpful in getting technique suggestions.
