i would say do some reading, like the books already mentioned, and also check out the site for awhile, read the message boards, and check the internet for Your local BDSM munches, etc. That's what i did & it seemed to work.

You are young take your time and don't push it, join groups local to you and will find real people who you can look up to and ask questions of. Books are a good place to start but no substitute for real life experience.

Ask whoever you're dating if they've ever thought about having their wrists tied to the bedposts during sex. They say yes, you try it and then talk about it, and then try something else.

They say no, you drop it. If it's something you need to be happy you don't go out with them again, just move on.

This isn't rocket science, it's people exploring what they do and don't like.
