Status: offline 		Did you know it's illegal in Australia to own a nine tailed whip? Ten or eight is fine but nine is illegal because back in the convict days a cat-of-nine tails was used on prisoners and is therefore considered an immoral weapon.

Do you know any other strange, irritating, amusing, offensive laws or regulations regarding bdsm? Just a thought I'd spark up discussion.

Snopes.com is a good place to start.

Thanks for starting something new and interresting to talk about on here..

Your post got me to look into some in my state laws... living in the middle of bible belt.. they're interesting as hell.

We Have 4 interresting right off the bat.....

1. It's against North Carolina state laws to co-habitate with members of the opposite sex if not leagally married. (In the news recently... a Lady was fired/quit her job at a local sheriff's office because her boss.. the sheriff... found out she was living with boyfriend.. not married.. and that charges could be brought up against her..she's taking this to the high courts now)

2. On the 3rd Sunday of each month.... a husband can bring his wife to the steps of the court house and beat her for 60 seconds. (In process of being removed now due to spouse abuse new laws)

3. (short term) Ownership of certain sexualy toys beyond the norm of dildos and vibrators are against the law. (But such said toys are sold all over the state... LOL)

4. Last but not least.... any sexual position other than missionary style... is a crime against nature and you can be imprisoned for up to 2 years. Oral sex can get you 5 of not more.. Anal can get you more... it all depends on which preacher/Judge you get.

Thanks to your post on laws... my research... I'm now going to realistate site.. and looking for a new state to live in... LOL

Great topic... look forward to seeeing what other laws aply to others where they live..... on the life of BDSM.

In Dyersburg, it is illegal for a woman to call a man for a date.

In Memphis restaurants, it is illegal to give any pie to fellow diners, it's illegal to take unfinished pie home and all pie must be eaten on the premises.

In Memphis, it is illegal for a woman to drive by herself, unless a man is walking or running infront of the vehicle, waving a red flag in order to warn approaching pedestrians and motorists

Status: offline 		In Victoria (Aust) it is illegal to drive an automibile on public roads without having a man walking in front carying a red flag.

Current Criminal law in Queensland: During the hours of darkness it is illegal to wear carpet slippers outside of your home/ property. It is also illegal to carry a carpet bad during the hours of darkness. Infringements on either of these laws can result ib being charged as a burglar.

Current Queensland Law: Pro Dominants of either sex are regulated by the Sex Workers Act.

Many Queensland Police Officers refuse to believe or recognise that Federal Law over-rides State Law.....

Queensland Weapons Law: With the appropriate Security and Weapons Licences (State), I can carry a gun to protect property but only use it to protect a person at risk. (this appliesto both Security Officers and Body Guards).

Western Australian Criminal Law: If a make is HIV Positive and threatens to or actually urinates at or on a person deliberately, he can and will be charged with attempted murder. I know a case where this was done when an offeder pissed on the boots of a Police Officer.

If the husband "personally witnesses the corrupt sexual activity," he's allowed to shoot his unfaithful spouse. Such adultery-related homicides aren't even prosecuted.

That's become a very vast ... very fast... law.. in alot of states over here in US too.

In Seattle, women who sit on men's laps on buses or trains without placing a pillow between them face an automatic 6 months in jail.

In Seattle, it is illegal to carry a concealed weapon longer than 6 feet.

It is illegal to pretend one's parents are rich.

And if those arent good......i saved the best one for last.......

In the state of Washington there is a law against having sex with a virgin under any circumstances. (Including the wedding night.)

Status: offline 		I remember a book I had as a kid listing all kinds of absurd laws. The title was Donkeys Can't Sleep in Bathtubs--so I assume there's a law about that somewhere.

We just like to execute. Yup, the great days were when George W was Governor of Texas and Jeb Governor of Florida. The capital execution competition was fiercely, ah, neck and neck.
