pahunkboy -> un-usual weather here, how about ur town? (6/11/2009 7:23:51 PM)

the past month has been odd- and the past few weeks- we been getting tons of rain.  The other say a passerby asked if the river was ever this high.  And yes it had been no problem.  We also have had some ozone alert days here.  THAT is unusual.  A few in August- but not this early.

So- is the weather normal for your area these days?

ShaharThorne -> RE: un-usual weather here, how about ur town? (6/11/2009 7:37:33 PM)

The same low front that is stationary on your end is trying to drip on us down here. I had 60 mile gusts and a few hours of thunderstorms. Mom was in MD last week and complained about the rain there.

pahunkboy -> RE: un-usual weather here, how about ur town? (6/11/2009 7:50:40 PM)

Yes- it looked like tornado weather earlier.

slaveboyforyou -> RE: un-usual weather here, how about ur town? (6/11/2009 7:52:07 PM)

It's always tornado weather here this time of year.  It did rain a lot last month, but I wasn't complaining.  I love the rain, it keeps the temps down.

VampiresLair -> RE: un-usual weather here, how about ur town? (6/11/2009 7:53:09 PM)

We have been under a tornado watch all day, there was a random, superintense thunderstorm earlier today, and over the last month its been anywhere from 60 to 90, dry to rainy, and we did have 3 days straight of rain.

So, for TN, perfectly normal

It has been like monsoon season in Illinois.

DarkSteven -> RE: un-usual weather here, how about ur town? (6/11/2009 7:57:00 PM)

We've had four solid weeks of rainy weather.  It's unusual for Denver to get more than three DAYS of that.

Wait a minute. I've got to read the fine print. I thought the rapture just means the devout  will be airlifted out, leaving the rest of us in charge. I just figured, shit - as long as they're not going to be needing their El Dorados anymore, we might as well move in and carpe the diem. I wasn't figurin' any roasting into my calculations...

Sounds like here PA...  Haven't seen the sun since last Wednesday.  Highs in the low to mid 70s, plenty of rain.  Normally it's about 90ish and nary a cloud in sight.  I'm loving this.  Hope it keeps up all summer.

ShaharThorne -> RE: un-usual weather here, how about ur town? (6/11/2009 8:49:46 PM)

Back to the weather...

The south Pacific is going thru an El Nino phrase right now. It is going to draw the jetstream further south and act as a barrier to any hurrcaines in the Gulf of MExico.

Sorrry Steven...I recommend a kayak for traveling.

As to the rapture...as long as I get a small car, I don't mind.

Hi PA  hope you are having a fantastic week!
The weather has been unusual here in the UK for the past few months.  Not that anyone can complain.  Blue skies, high temps and beautiful consistant weather - very unUK like.
Although we had a really bad hail storm the other day in one area with reports of something similar to a small whirlwind.

Well its my first time in FL, but having grown up it Texas, it seems normal to me
Temps in the 90's through the weekend, high pressure sitting over us. No rain.
Of course there is always a possibilty of thunderstorms with the heat and being surrounded by water pretty much.

So far the Fl weather has been like back home, with the exception of a bit more rain.

mefisto69 -> RE: un-usual weather here, how about ur town? (6/12/2009 3:42:46 AM)
