Over the years now 3 of my neighbors have started burn piles, walked away and forgotten them, and caused brush piles. These days I'm mean, I call the fire department and report them the moment I see the pile burning and nobody sitting next to it with the hose at the ready.
Of course, the 911 dispatcher who answered the call the last time I reported this wins the cake. "My neighbor has lit the woods on fire", response "On purpose?".
I wanted to say 'of course not you twit', but instead informed her that he went inside and forgot about it. 3 hours and 30 firefighters later, I asked if he sat down to watch tv and was told yes. Eye rolling on my part and the assistant fire chief I was asking.
On my part, backing out of the garage and into my ex's pick up. It was parked up the hill the previous night is my only excuse. But showing up at the auto body shop and having the guys roll on the floor when I told them was no fun.
