I like the idea of being friends :D

In the world we live in, Decency is a huge concern, and there can be a world of difference between a delicately lifted sweater and a tit popped out of a bathing suit
I just dont get it, but that is because I dont get why I Cant be naked all the time (weather permitting)

Lucylastic -> RE: Breastfeeding, taboo or not (6/16/2009 1:07:49 PM)

There are times you feel like you wanna lock away the world and times you feel like you are gonna scream with cabin fever if you dont get out of the house.
When I was a new mom(23 years ago) I wasnt allowed to leave the house for ten days, (I ripped my stitches twice) , by the 7th day I was going nuts, hormonal, tired beyond belief, I was feeding every two hours for two hours(milk hadnt come down properly) if  my hubby had tried to keep me indoors or off my feet, he would be a corpse and I probably would have gotton away with it. My health visitor told me I had to walk everyday with the baby, get some excercise, help melt away the pregnancy fat, be healthy for the baby. It was a mile walk to the clinic and docs, no car, no public transport. every restaurant in that mile knew me  very well.

Actually it seems that everyone is agreeing here that it is the decency thing that is the real issue..??  So, does this make us all friends again??

Feels weird, doesn't it?

Remember that scene in American Wedding where Stifler and Finch are being nice to each other?

Stiffler: "Dick. I fucking hate not hating you."
Finch: "I did fuck your mother...*smiles* Twice."
Stiffler: "Hooooo that's better fucker!"

ShaharThorne -> RE: Breastfeeding, taboo or not (6/16/2009 1:09:41 PM)

In all the cases of breastfeeding women, 100% were decently clothed in my view. Don't know where Loki is at to see women dress less than appropriate.

i dunno either, Shahar, but i'd like to visit. [;)]

If the world would just get comfortable with nudity, this wouldn't be an issue anymore and i could finally run around without my clothes! Oh, one can dream anyways.

Odd really that a collection of self confessed perves and kinksters like us are getting our collective knickers in a twist over public decency *smiles*

Asherdelampyr -> RE: Breastfeeding, taboo or not (6/16/2009 1:19:29 PM)

Yes, indeed it is

but, that's life for ya

ShaharThorne -> RE: Breastfeeding, taboo or not (6/16/2009 1:22:34 PM)

I run around naked all day long if I can, but out of respect for my mom I don't. I am more like my dad until I caught him when I had company over..LOL!

Asherdelampyr -> RE: Breastfeeding, taboo or not (6/16/2009 1:23:41 PM)

I am almost constantly nekkid
when I get cold there is a blanket
when someone comes over there is a pair of jammy pants close at hand
I just hate getting dressed :P

Indeed.

Aileen1968 -> RE: Breastfeeding, taboo or not (6/16/2009 1:28:25 PM)

I breast fed both of mine until they were each thirteen months old.  I breastfed them in public because sometimes you need to go out and get stuff done, like food shopping.  And yes, you have to take your baby with you.  Mine never drank from a bottle.  They breastfed exclusively until about five months and then they went right to sippy cups.  I was very private when I fed them.  No one ever saw any skin.  If I had a choice while out I would feed them in a "mom" zone or my car.  I spent many an hour feeding them in a parking lot.  It is absolutely ridiculous to think that I would lock my self in my home because someone might be offended by what was occuring under the blanket thrown over my shoulder.  I've seen far more disgusting things from grown adults.
Even at home I was as private as I could be when I fed them.  If I was home alone then I was more open.  If people were over I always went into the nursery.
That being said....the months I breastfed were, by far, my most favorite times.  Nothing else like it.

GabrielleSlave -> RE: Breastfeeding, taboo or not (6/16/2009 1:28:41 PM)

Off to bed (where i too will be nekkid apart from the ankle tether attached to the bedpost)

Night night chaps x

MisterBob -> RE: Breastfeeding, taboo or not (6/16/2009 1:35:06 PM)

If you notice ... the attitude about attire that you are speaking about is only in countries that suppress their people.  America is one of those countries.
If you travel Europe you will see topless billboards for suntan lotion.  You will see woman breastfeeding right out on the street, etc.
It is a very uptight society that we live in.  I personally would like to see the females in our world topless as the men are allowed to be.  If it was that way the infactuation men have with breast would be a little more down played but sexuality would be up only because we would be able to freely express ourselves without worrying about what others think as we do in our current system.
I am not saying that Europe is right in all things but they do think right in my opinion on what we call nudity here in america.

DomImus -> RE: Breastfeeding, taboo or not (6/16/2009 1:41:53 PM)

I have no problem with it and just mind my own business if I see it.

I'm late to the discussion and didn't read all 13 pages... has Bush been also been blamed for this one yet?

I was thinking along these lines; with all the mention of 'decency', but was also pondering the possibility of it having to do with our sense of self.

Nudity seems to be a non-issue; as long as the nakedness belongs to someone we can relate our sexuality to.

PyrotheClown -> RE: Breastfeeding, taboo or not (6/16/2009 1:48:56 PM)

holy crap, 13 pages! really, its just boobies, who in their life hasn't seen at least one bare female mammary?

RealSub58 -> RE: Breastfeeding, taboo or not (6/16/2009 1:52:45 PM)

I didn't read all the pages .... I just hope someone NOT from the good ole USA spoke up.

littlewonder -> RE: Breastfeeding, taboo or not (6/16/2009 2:38:03 PM)

I breastfed my UM...in private. I never understood what the reason is for doing it in public. There are restrooms, there are private corners, you can have some prepared in a bottle if you're going out.

Imo..time and place for everything.
