I heart Canada.
So do I actually. Once when my oldest UM was an infant, the ex and I were out on a long shopping day (on foot with the stroller), and we were still about 1/2 from home and the wee one was squalling for food. So I told the ex to just go ahead and feed her, so she sat down on the stoop of a business and nursed her, right on the side of a busy street in the middle of the adternoon. Nobody paid any attention, and at least one cop drove by without doing anything.

The best part of the story: The business she was sitting in front of? Wilde's...the local gay porn shop[:D]

hmm... I just checked. It seems Pa is pretty much the same as Ohio. Woman can breastfeed in public and that INCLUDES RESTAURANTS. It is the law.

Gee Aravain...maybe you should just order takeout....Because nursing moms are not going to stop!!!!!

Fast reply..

Breastfeeding...? 22 pages? Hmmm, er... right.

In public? Hmmm, well taking into consideration inconsiderate cellphone users, inconsiderate drivers, people who have no qualms about scything your ankles from under you with shopping carts, people wandering round with dogbreath, or even horsebreath, people who avoid deodorant, washing powder, etc I'd have to say that breastfeeding doesn't bother me at all.

(bad i know)

but seriously, i have never noticed a woman breastfeeding in public that i can recall.  if i did, i imagine id think isnt that precious and then forget all about it.  just not something id give a second thought to.

sirsholly -> RE: Breastfeeding, taboo or not (6/17/2009 3:57:12 PM)

all the legislation i have read says that indecency laws do not apply to nursing women.

There are one or two (ok...just one) that i would loooove to flash the hell out of [sm=flash.gif] followed by neener neener boo boo...it's legal!! [sm=tongue.gif]

SavageFaerie -> RE: Breastfeeding, taboo or not (6/17/2009 4:12:02 PM)

When my daughter was surrgate for my best friend, one of the perks was that she would be lactating..which was a kink for her partner/Dom.

Im mean hey turn it to kink and its all good.

Vendaval -> RE: Breastfeeding, taboo or not (6/17/2009 4:18:22 PM)

I would like to add to stella's list the young men who wear their jeans slung so low that half or all of the butt cheeks are hanging out whilst a belt is still attached through the pant loops.

JonnieBoy -> RE: Breastfeeding, taboo or not (6/17/2009 4:42:13 PM)

Anyone who thinks that breastfeeding belongs in toilets is very seriously fucked in the head.

I don't understand why anyone has an "issue" but suspect strongly it's something to do with religion or having a sheltered life, I wonder if the same people regard passing excrement in public as disgusting enough to believe that blowing ones nose in a public area should be against the law (it's certainly more offensive and places bystanders at risk too).

Not that I don't find tits eyecatching for other reasons [;)], (which is a bonus) but seeing them used as nature intended is ... well ... natural.

I won't be breastfeeding in public for obvious reasons, but support the right of every baby who has the opportunity to have a healthy upbringing, not to have to starve.

Loki, i shudder to think of what kind of people Your children would grow up to be like, being locked up in the house their entire life, because "someone" "evil" may be out there. There is absolutely nothing wrong with breast feeding your child, ANYWHERE. It is what our bodies were made to do.  IF you don't like looking at it, then don't. The fact that you would make an ass out of yourself, to make a point is, well, incredulous to me. It would make you look  like the bad one, not her.  So how long you plan on locking your kids up? till high school? or college? let me know how that works out for ya, LOL

rednicky -> RE: Breastfeeding, taboo or not (6/17/2009 6:49:06 PM)

I for one have no issue with breast feeding. I only flinch at the fact that someone else who is around might. There's nothing wrong with breast feeding but it would be nice if the breast feeder took the feelings of others into consideration. It's not the act of breast feeding but the breast itself being out in the open. People always go crazy when they see 'too much' cleavage. This is just another example. Just like nudists. Nudists have every right to walk around naked but they are conscious of public opinion and sensitivity so the only go nude in certain places (beaches, nudist communities, woods, etc...). It's a courtesy thing. That's all.

JstAnotherSub -> RE: Breastfeeding, taboo or not (6/17/2009 6:51:36 PM)

i would have never guessed this subject would cause such strong emotions....its worse than a sub vs slave, death penalty, fat chick combo.

adding breast feeding to politics and religion in the "do not discuss" pile

Wow, you sure came late to the party. And I see you only read about 2 pages before you chose to contribute. That's all I really have to say in reply. If you're not going to follow the conversation through its entire course, I'm not restating things that were said 15 pages ago. Sorry.
