You know, this whole war on terrorism is really very simple. LEAVE THE CRAZY FUCKS ALONE, LET THEM KILL EACH OTHER AND COME THE FUCK HOME!!!!

That would be a wonderful approach if, in fact, the crazy fucks would kill themselves off. But they aren't. They are targeting innocent people for their political and religious agenda. If no one attempts to stop them, it will not get better.

It's not going to get better whether we fight or not. No matter what happens, it is just going to be the same ole thing and more people getting killed. At least if our soldiers get killed, they will be killled here at home and not in some foreign country where they don't know anyone.

Wait, wait, Gauge and Michael. You're not that far apart.

You men are talking about two different eras, two different wars, two very different circumstances, and very different administrations.

Neither Michael or anyone else has said we did the wrong thing to enter Afghanistan.

But it was terribly wrong and miscalculated to invade Iraq.

I have to add that I admire the respect you two and Jenny debate with.

If the war on terrorism is ineffectual then why haven't they attacked the US again?

Dying in war happens... it is terrible, tragic and sad. Where you die is of little importance compared to what you die for. These young people are giving their life in the name of freedom. If you think that the bloodshed should stop, that is fine... I support you in that and in fact share that wish. I will not deceive myself into thinking that the war is going to end any time soon.

I want to thank you for your kind words about me. That was quite unexpected.

The rest of the worlds problems effect the USA. After all, there are these things called "IMPORTS" that we seem to rely on.
Other than that, let's look at world wide diseases. I guess we shouldn't have given all those small pox vaccinations to 3rd wolrd countries after all. And since other countries don't seem to effect us, I guess we should just let everyone have Nukes and Power Plants. A third world countries inability to properly contain nuclear energy would never become a problem for the US.

Once again, offense is better than defense.

they do not affect the usa. aids an epidemic and decimating africa, that affects me how?
Yeah, we have been responsible with nukes and power plants.....

Kinda how we get electricity them goldurn power plants, hell, we are even so far advanced that we could make us some automated asswipe and (you know, just to fuck around)

Small pox would have decimated the troublemakers.......

end of asswipe
look, all
we are doing pretty good, but then we figure we have the ultimate plan....so we gotta force our vision on the way it should be.....

why so insecure, we the country of freedom can't afford a couple of commies in the government? So we can't get cheap and useless consumer goods from the rest of the world. And rather spend the rest of our days telling someone "How it outta be" than enjoying the fruits of our leisure, you want Shiva? so what?

I will bet [name deleted] (JohnWarren) knows what a chamber pot is....how about you? Do you know why young gentlemen put crunched up toilet paper or even pages from the sears catalog in the bottoms of em?

Seriously.......

again, consider reading some of the thousands of years of history and wisdom in the books I recommended.

if I buy a plier now, it has to last me a lifetime....One at 1.98 at walmart is useless to me.........a klien at 12.98 will stay with me till I die...it is only good stewardship....

using this analogy:

would a store owner go to someone's house and tell them how to run it?

same difference, but on a larger scale.

we took this country from the American Indians under false pretenses. We tortured them and left them out in the cold to survive on their own or die. And the majority of them died, so what makes us different from al Queda and what they did to us on 9/11?

Hmm... I can't say with absolute certainty, but let me guess...

Could it be that the powers-that-be of our country have the ability to create elaborately effective illusions and manipulate the thoughts and emotions of the common masses with them better than the powers-that-be of most other countries, even in spite of the fact that the masses here still have both access to information and options that are not available in most places elsewhere?

The richest in the world? To my understanding, government debt is currently at an unprecedented high. I understand that the current administration has run up a deficit greater than all the prior administrations combined.

Personal debt is also at a high.

So where's all the wealth?

I even know what "garde l’eau" means, but my most memorable crapper was in a hotel in Malaysia. Like most there, it was just a hole in the floor. What made it memorable was it was on the third floor and the "collector" was on the first. I felt like a WWI bomber. I swear it whistled on the way down.

I think that you answered your own question. I don't know statistics so I cannot answer with any accuracy. Compared to the majority of nations America is the richest both in opportunity and wealth.

Thanks for sharing that John. You know, I could have gone my entire life without that vivid visual but you have graced me with it. I need a shower now, but first I am going to check my ceiling.

And so why squander it to hip the fucking world to your personal wisdom?

Conventional wisdom has not led us far in the future, it has looked with myopic eyes at our past, if this is the legacy you are enamoured with, and writhing a book, leave my chaper out, pleae.
We are heading for the rhubarb in bnkruptcy.....see my prior post on this, although many of you will not recognise it. No matter,
You first have to play the game, and as a nation we will. As individuals, some of us will hold our four score and seven with ............

Actually, I didn't. But I can see how you arrived at that conclusion.

You're absolutely correct.

However, as time goes on, and in terms of percentages, the wealth increasingly becomes more concentrated into the hands of fewer people.

Squander it? If you call humanitarian aid squandering then I hope that you are never in a position to need any assistance from anyone else... ever, because that would be squandering.

I am not enamored with anything, nor am I writing a book, I am simply stating my opinion.

Hold it, Guage......many times we are in agreement and in fact I find no fault with your statements, but I am not going to sit silently if you mean to infer that Iraq or Afganistan or any money that the governement spends on humanitarian aid is actually humanitarian aid (hopefully, we both will dismiss the 'Mother of all wars on terror' as less than humanitarian aid. ) the government pumps billions (any wanks out there? About 38% of the debt or in real terms about 3.8% (yeah you heard me) on humanitarian aid. People starve all over the world-- why is this so when the richest country on earth is flush with money and the wherewithal to 'Git 'er done'? Most of the rice bags sit in the rat infested warehouse; rotting, while local-- oh hell John, whats the word of the day? Strongmen hang out and decide it's distribution........

Fuck this, I ain't even gonna go on; but before any of you people hep us to what you FEEL we are doing for the planet;
before you people have this immaculate dream that because we are the illiuminati of the galaxy.....................
Let me tell you a story; I can call George Bush a cocksucker and I did right here and some of you might take umbrage at that, but there is little chance of me sufffering any lasting retribution for it.........

I don't give a fuck if you are Henry Kissinger, you don't stand on a streetcorner in tin Germany even today; and call Helmut Kohl a cocksucker.......

different........

so, I am not opposed to being the strong country on the planet earh.....

But before any of you go off and decide that The fucking Spin Zone Doctor or any of these other asslicks is right and even if they are wrong,
weave into the spin zone:

Yassar Arafat
Mengistu
Haille Selassie
Nguen Kao Ky
Mbutu
Noriega
Shah an Shah
Savack
Duvallier
Ton Ton Macoutes
Battista
Allende
ad nauseam...............

So our worldwide political prowess is such that we should take a fuckin' 'arf a mo' guv!

Yeah... enough

again, that's not OUR problem...let the rest of the world deal with their own problems...we have quite enough in this country to deal with. until we can clean up our own mess, we can't clean up someone else's

actually it is our problem big time regardless how big of mess we have.

Anyone know the number? U834 348 maybe? That is a german uboat you can see in the New York harbor that we sunk. They were on our doorstep!

Had Germany lasted another year hitler would have had long range bombers that could have bombed major us cities. germany would have had the first a bomb.

America sat on its ass and closed its eyes to europe with exactly your attitude and if wasnt for peral H that spring boarded into the war we would have a swastika on our flags right now.

Same thing with bin l. the previous admin tried to get him and failed. clinton wanted to go in to afg but there was no one to support him.

people would say what the hell we doing going into that innocent country with no insight as to the consequences if we dont! exactly like ww2

well again we sat on our asses with our heads in the sand due to anti war sentiment and again a war was brought to us.

you know what happens to the ostrich with its head in the sand and its ass in the air?

war sux lot of people die but sometimes its necesary regardless of our sentiments.
