Yep, you're right. It's very clear you didn't read the post to which you were replying. The lines you quote are sarcasm showing just how progressive our society is, though the rabid feminists will never acknowledge it. Kinda like how it will never stop being "the man's" fault that blacks can't advance in life (despite how we have a multi-racial president now).

As for the lady comment, yep. I'm serious. If you want to moniker of lady, you act like one. Having a vagina does not automatically make you a lady. That sentiment comes not only from me, but from the numerous women I have met who shared it.

Actually, it's not valid at all. Unless of course you don't mind stopping to someone else's level. If you check the political forum, you will find a post where someone said that since our enemies don't treat us nicely when captured, we shouldn't either. And one of the first replies was "we're better than our enemies and have principles that they do not."

Same applies here. You can either be as rude as those you point your finger at and use the excuse that 'they did it so you can to' or you can elevate yourself a bit and take the high road. It's clear that Shakti would rather lie with the pigs than to be above them.

And if you don't know what the abbreviated expression "same same" means, then I can't help you. Sure, there are differences, but they are both well-known to be grueling training environments. However in boot camp, there is no college classes and in west point there is.

Unfortunately, with all of the ranting about Boxer and the General, -nobody- has paid any attention to the General's answer about why the Corps of Engineers -still- hasn't figured out a realistic way to fix the levees... and don't tell me it can't be done. Holland has managed to thwart the sea for -centuries-, and we can't even protect one doggone city. Ingenuity my colorful dress bustle! We have thousands of people who need work, and levees that need to be re-built, so why are we all sitting on our tushes and debating who was rude to whom -- That is a conversation for old grannys over tea-- we'll have time to discuss it at length when we have nothing better to do.

Status: offline 		NO, Shaktisama, it's you who have missed the point. Senator Boxer was very much in a public place. No one calls down an employee in such a situation. Say what you will about the fine points you mention that, frankly, are meaningless to the central and only issue here. You are a person who does not see the forest because of the trees. The simple fact is she made a mistake. Your politics determine if she is to be forgiven or censored for her error in judgement. After reading these posts I find most believe, as I do, that Senators should be qualified to serve. Sadly, we find judgement is lacking in most of our elected officials. We find too many of them appearing in the media for exhibiting their lack of it. Then we wonder why America is in the mess we are in. We are not on are way out of it either. My hope is that the beautiful, honest young woman from Alaska will lead us back to the days when men were men and women were women. People with unclouded judgement like those who wrote and signed the Declaration of Independence and authored our Constitution represent what is needed today. In those days a mind like Senator Boxers would not have been permitted in the room.

This whole thing's a mess, but I'll try to decipher it.

In a public setting - especially a public professional setting - where two people are supposed to follow protocols of respect, and one person does not, they need to be corrected then and there. Our view points here are obviously so different they make communication on the subject nigh impossible. You see the world as one way, I see it as another. I can't convince you the sky is blue if you say it's green.

But there is one passage that particularly worries me. "My hope is that the beautiful, honest young woman from Alaska will lead us back to the days when men were men and women were women." First of all, young woman? She's 45. While certainly not a hard and fast rule of phrasing, the common use of the term "young woman" is to describe a person who has just reached adulthood. While I don't respect much else about her, I recognize that Sarah Palin is an adult.

Which makes her other issues much worse. She's honest? Aside from issues of ideology and politics, she's lied about a great number of things publicly, like her husband's affiliation with the Alaskan Independent Party.

As for "men being men and women being women," what exactly does this mean? Is it anything but a wish for a return to the normalcy of sexist and gender-discriminatory cultural views? If so, please, explain. I'd love to be proven wrong here.

I'd go longer, but I have to leave for work now.

Status: offline 		I really don't care if they call each other fish bait... get on with the business of this nation and stop this foolish ego shit.  That is what it amounts to in the long run.  They want respect then give us something to respect.  They should be kneeling before us humbled and begging our forgiveness for their lacks, not puffed up on pride or rights.  Forgive me if I feel we are far more important than what they are called.  I do wonder what they call us... their employer???

Okay it is my morning... but damn it... it is time to take care of the people of this nation and stop fucking us and generations to come.

As for those founding father's that signed all those documents... some of them were not perfect.  Far from it.  I respect the ideal, but it was just that... an ideal few of them lived.  Every man didn't include women or slave's.  A man who will cheat on his wife will cheat on anyone and the African American's that are in my family didn't marry in... they were born from these relationships that the founding fathers I was related to, had.  Let's get real rather than make gods of these men who were just that... men.  And let's not expect those/these real women to continue to accept the behavior of real men.  Get real.

Status: offline 		Whilst each is entitled to his or her own opinion, Bicman, I do feel I have to correct you on a factual matter, if that's OK.  Sarah Palin is not a beautiful, honest young woman.  She's as mad as a mongoose, holds deranged opinions that should have disappeared before Columbus set sail and has the allure of a warthog with piles.
