I came across a curiousity today - to Me, at least.

A submissive, who has a Master, wishes to broaden her experience, but she will require tribute.

Three reactions followed each other one fairly quickly on the other.

Firstly, "sub requires tribute...wtf... ?"
Secondly, "Well I suppose the tribute could be for Master...."
Thirdly "Pro...."

Anyone else come across this phenomenon, and any illuminating thoughts?

She requires something - and tribute surely is not it.   A lesson in protocol perhaps; certainly some pointers in the practicalities of a D/s relationship.   Even the rough edge of my tongue comes to mind.

I wish this person luck - they'll need it.

Do you feel the same way, when you see the word tribute in a domme's profile?

I never understood why a Mistress needing a tribute was "acceptable" Loosely. However us subs who are usually in some why shape or form put in some type of risky situation where limbs and such can be damaged... why thats an issue for us to ask for compensation... ya know?

Personally I enjoy play and i do it for free and any one asking for money to play with them or for someone else. Is getting one very quick show of my behind walking away from them....

But then i think asking for money is tacky...

If someone wants to ask for a tribute in their profile, I figure that is their business. If someone else is stupid enough to send a stranger on the internet money, then that also is their business. Occasionally I will get a good laugh reading their profiles, but other than that I ignore them.

As far as professionals asking for a fee for a session, they are offering a service and charge for it. No different than any other professional service. I have played with several pros and they were awesome.

To hopelessfool... I too prefer free...it's supposed to be a pleasure. I can also see "pro" and money going together either side of the slash. I just couldnt get My head around "sub...require tribute" outside of pro.

To ranja...you could be right. I didnt ask. It was the concept that aroused My curiousity rather than the individual.

When i first read this, i thought "Tribute!?  Why the hell is a sub asking for tribute!?"  i think if s/he is going to ask for $$ it shouldn't be termed "tribute."  For some reason that just sounds weird to me, but if the sub is possibly being put into harm's way somehow, where they are in such a situation as to be helpless as many of us are during play, i don't see any reason why they can't ask for some kind of compensation.....situational danger pay maybe?  Like hopelessfool said......"However us subs who are usually in some why shape or form put in some type of risky situation where limbs and such can be damaged... why thats an issue for us to ask for compensation... ya know?"  But i for one would never ask for $$ as i'm not a Pro.  Plus i can't understand why the Master would let her play with others for $$ unless He "put her up to it."  But then come to think of it, i've heard of tribute Dommes but i've never heard of male Doms asking for tribute....does that ever happen?

Yes I do.   If you are a pro Domme or sub then advertise yourself as such and seek payment for services rendered.   Asking for' tribute' has always seemed a bit pompous for mine and, from a submissive, unacceptable EXCEPT if seeking payment as a professional, in which case it should be CALLED payment.

That's kind of what I was thinking. There is no reason that all of the pro dominant women should have all the fun.

As for the person that wanted to give her the "rough edge of my tongue", WHY?!?! If she is not yours, she is none of your business. I doubt you would tollerate another giving one of your slaves/submissives a dressing down just because they did not feel your property was behaving in a manner they thought acceptable. It works both ways.

If I was stupid enough to go there with another M-type's s-type, I would expect to get "the rough edge" of that M-type's tongue directed at ME! And rightly so.

The very first pro-sub I ever played with, was for a film shoot. He was a novice, and endured alot that day.

He was totally gone, sub spaced, a wonderful film day and experience, and he got paid for it. I didnt, I enjoyed it for fun.

So yes, there are male and female Professional subs outhere, not only Pro Dominants [:D]

I dont see the big deal really, and agree with above post. Dont hinder what doesnt affect you, your own life & business should, not what strangers or nit picking about others [:D]

My thoughts? Well, it's probably Monday because we have a 'tributes' thread. However it could be like the 'fat threads' and the 'sub vs. slave' discussions and occur with the phases of the Moon.

I just got an email from a dom/domme couple the which claimed to be from a woman and acted like they expected me to have some sort of use for a domme. Trying to figure out what everyone on this site is thinking or demanding that they follow your expectations of how things work will drive you crazy. If a profile seems like a scam then report it, otherwise just shake your head and move on.

If her Master is on board with it, cool.  If not, then she's risking her relationship for a paid fling.
