It's undeniably true that people of all races and colors are feeling the hurt of this moment.  Still, it's interesting--more than that--to me that most if not all of the negative (sometimes extremely negative) posts that I have read on various threads about Michael were written by, shall I say, non-blacks.  If anyone doubts the accuracy of that statement, look at this thread and that "other" thread, where the negativity was truly running rampant.

I have not seen this pattern. Most of the negative posts I have seen about MJ have been by non-pedophiles. In my opinion he was very talented and in my opinion he deserves every last one of those types of posts. If you are talking about posts just here on CM have you noticed the general ratio of white folks to black folks here? That could account for something.

Oh great! Now watch, there'll be a Big Jackson Family Fight about who gets all his rubber noses!
"Gimme that snoz GermainE!"
Ughhhh, just got out of the hospital this morning ith 29 staples in my abdomen. Now I know how it must feel to be "gut shot."
O Gawd, I can't laugh! Fuckin' Michael Jackson is getting me from death! Cocksucker!

I don't need a "tribute thread" to hide from those who feel this need to tear Michael Jackson down upon his death.  They don't matter to me--at all.

OK ... bring it on ...

You keep quoting me without giving me the credit ... pretty ignorant in my opinion.

You WANT me to be a dirty fucking racist ... you will have to live with disappointment as far as that goes.

You call for my death ... That's obviously NOT against the law where you are ... it is where I am.

What has MY skin colour (you brought it up, not me) got to do with my views on the standards I judge paedophila by?

The laws are different in different parts of the world, I was quite looking forward to seeing how "reclusive" "whacko" would be to avoid a LOT of VERY AWKWARD questions in the UK.

He's dead? ...  for fucks sake, that changes nothing in my mind, he tore HIMSELF down whilst he was alive, by his own behaviour.

I believe that his corpse is a waste of a good coffin I am entitled to my opinion too. I do not believe in the death penalty and never called for anyones death, guess what ... I'm not angry (thought I'd add that jus' so's you know)

I have not been afforded appropriate mutual understanding by my judgment (and don't do the bible judgment crap on me because you're already a laughing stock for that ... trust me) so guess what ... this Boy is sure you are inviting me to have this out ... in public ... with ... YOU.

I guess I'm not on the "They" list then?   (as in ... who don't matter to you)  If I am on said list, I guess you will not respond on this forum?

Get well soon Popeye, Just don't go watching "The Sleeper" (Woody Allen) until you are unstapled ... the rubber nose sketches in that could prove damaging to your health (avoids "die laughing" jokes since youre convalescing [;)])

And so it fuckin starts again..What wondering how long it was gonna take for someone bring up the bloody skin color.

He is just baiting people...you should know by now how he gets his kicks.... He likes to say " look at me" instead of look inside.

Yeah though it's pretty damn bad when you post an honest opinion based on the fact that not all had a great affinity to his music. Fine, he had a few songs I do enjoy yet I still prefer listening to The Supremes or Aretha, which that is completely based on not the color of their skin but on the amazing talented voices they have coupled with the fact that the songs Diana and Aretha sings appeal to me on a more personal level. Frankly he can kiss my honky mixed breed ass...music is music regardless of race.

Hey Blaakmaan, what did "Jah Moh" or whatever the fuck that word was in "Bad" mean?

seriously?

You're the last word in big bad blacknessso you HAVE to know.

pahunkboy -> RE: Michael Jackson Mania/the good the bad and the disturbing (6/28/2009 6:26:42 AM)

I still prefer listening to The Supremes or Aretha/  snip

There are many more talented singers.   Had MJ not gone off the deep end in his drugs, which seemed to take hold 20 years ago- per haps his songs might have grew to be a legend.     In many ways he is just an 80s pop star.   He might have grown- look at Tina Turner.     There is not much after the 80s truly new music that is a work of art.     Even tho- we been at war for 7 years now... the music should have taken a turn for the better.

The people who MJ surrounded himself with assisted in his destruction.   THOSE are no friends and no loved ones.   Fame and fortune does that to people.

The entire essense of the whole story is demented.  A sad commentary on the modern culture.

i've never liked michael jackson nor would i EVER consider him to be the king of anything, save for racking up debt that the rest of us will be picking up the tab for in the long run[:-]

Kyttyn, thank you for sharing!
That is a wonderful video, and sort of funny.

I realize that many here on CollarMe do not "like"
Michael Jackson or the Jackson 5's music!
Notice I said "many" not all!
If you did not like his music, how could you really care?
This is the first star that I have ever felt this strongly about.

Most of us that are mourning or celebrating his life, adored or loved Michael Jackson, the Jackson 5, and or some combination of the above.
It's like that expression "If ya don't get it, ya don't get it!".

Some people cried and were upset when {John Lennon, Princess Di, James Brown, Elvis, Marilyn Monroe, John Wayne, Ronald Regan, Jimmy Dean, Judy Garland, you insert celebrity name here} DIED.
Understand this, for those that care: For many Michael Jackson fans, he means more to MANY of US than any of the people above.

For MANY people Michael Jackson IS THEIR Elvis, Princess Di, Marilyn Monroe, John Wayne, etc.
The coverage is not going to stop anytime soon, I expect a lot of coverage for at least the next 10 days-2 weeks, if ya don't like it, don't watch it.

I don't really give a rat's ass if you liked his music or not!

At the end of the day, YOUR opinion will not change MUSICAL HISTORY.
HIS LEGACY WILL LIVE ON UNTIL THE END OF THIS WORLD!
Michael Jackson's life COUNTED, and will always count, and that is what he wanted,

and even stated.
MILLIONS of people all over the world loved his music, and at the end of the day, and as far as musical history THAT is what counts.
The KING of Pop, and personally I think that is a HELL of an achievement.

I watched a lot of the Princess Di coverage, but I did not feel any of the strong emotions, that I am feeling about Michael.

I am going to NYC to celebrate his life on Thursday, and I am just angry I might miss the moonwalking competition![&o]
Damn it, Life just ain't always fair!

I would never expect someone that "doesn't feel" the love or the loss, to have the same feelings as those that DO, ever!

This is a personal thing, either you are a fan or you are NOT a fan.
There is nothing complicated about this fact, it really is just that simple!

I am traveling to NYC to celebrate the life of a musician that has been part of my life for the last 40 years.
I have never traveled to celebrate any musician's life before, and I doubt I will ever travel to celebrate another musician's life.
So again, look for the cute middle aged lady attempting to do the robot and the moonwalk in front of the Apollo on Friday.[:D]
The "cool" thing about it is, I am taking one of my favorite UM's with me, who adores him also!
[;)]
If YOU don't love his music and many of us do, and have not been one of the millions that have been rocking out to his tunes practically non-stop for the past 4 days, of course you won't get it!
Now time to get my Sunday dose of some Michael Jackson music, I have not listened to any for a few hours!

Peace Out!

intenze -> RE: Michael Jackson Mania/the good the bad and the disturbing (6/28/2009 7:29:07 AM)

Fast reply not for anyone in particular:
Well I for one am excited.  I am just waiting for the neat stuff that we can get now, like an MJ velveteen coverlet for my bed, an MJ toilet seat, an MJ sequins glove toile paper holder..gosh it is good to be an American!

EyemKnotHear -> RE: Michael Jackson Mania/the good the bad and the disturbing (6/28/2009 7:31:00 AM)

I've just lost 9 and a half minutes from my life that I can never get back!!!
Waste of time.
